MILAN (ITALPRESS) – On the occasion of the Milano Autoclassica show, the awards ceremony was held for “Best in Classic 2024,” the competition conceived and curated by the editorial staff of Ruoteclassiche (Editoriale Domus) to celebrate the excellences that, over the past twelve months, have distinguished themselves by winning the hearts of enthusiasts and contributing to the social, cultural and economic growth of the entire sector.Divided into 11 categories, all united by the indissoluble link between creations of the past and of today, the competition reached its fourth edition and, as usual, saw the participation of readers and users of the magazine who elected the queen of the “Classic Car of the Year” and “Classic Car of Tomorrow” categories by voting on Ruoteclassiche’s Instagram channel. The other nine prizes were awarded by the jury of experts chaired by the magazine’s editor-in-chief Gian Luca Pellegrini. This year’s winner of the coveted title of “Best in Classic 2024,” in the “Reloaded” category, was the new Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, the Biscione’s new one-off car that is directly derived from the Tipo 33, a major name in world motoring and an icon of the 1960s, still considered one of the most beautiful cars of all time. Made in only 33 exclusive examples, the new “two dry-seat” coupe combines heritage and future and is produced through an exclusive handcrafted process, exactly as it was done in Renaissance workshops or in the workshops of famous Italian coachbuilders in the 1960s. This is the official motivation of the jury: “The new 33 Stradale is a car that manages to be a manifesto for the future and at the same time a tribute to the past. Its lines trace those traced in 1967 yet speak of today, of new technologies and new propulsion. Lines that give shape to a dream, which has become a reality only for 33 fans of the brand. “Certainly what decreed the success of the stunning new 33 Stradale was its undisputed sculptural beauty, which introduces new design elements belonging to the brand’s new styling language. Specifically, the exterior represents the ultimate expression of “necessary beauty” and is characterized by a perfect balance of proportions, volumes and surface treatments. Similarly, the interior features minimalist design, engaging ambience and materials that emphasize the driving experience, all while faithfully respecting the aesthetics and technique of the 1967 33 Stradale. The ceremony was held at the Stella Polare Congress Center in Fiera Milano, involving the elite of the motoring world. Accepting the award was Alejandro Mesonero, Head of Alfa Romeo Design, who said, “I am really proud to receive this prestigious award given to the 33 Stradale by Ruoteclassiche. The design of the 33 Stradale is the result of the courage and a dash of healthy madness of an exceptional team. These are the ingredients that turn dreams into reality. The project is meant to be a tribute to Franco Scaglione’s 1967 masterpiece and, at the same time, anticipate some distinctive features of future Alfa Romeo models. The result is an authentic manifesto of what the Italian brand can – and will – do in terms of style and driving experience.”
