MILANO (ITALPRESS) – A few weeks from its beginning, the 2026 edition of the Elegance Competition in Villa d’Este will be presented today at the doors of Milan at the House of BMW Italia, which will be held in the location on Lake Como from 15 to 17 May. Approximately 50 of the most spectacular cars of their time will compete for trophies in the following competition classes. Among these stands the “Trofeo BMW Group – Best of Show”, with which a high-profile jury will designate the absolute winner of the Elegance Competition. For the automotive brand, the partnership with the Villa d’Este competition has become a long-term tradition. “It is a project that was born together and is part of our DNA: we arrived at the 21st year, always in the name of elegance. We look at the past and celebrate successful cars, but we never give up looking to the future and looking for in Villa d’Este the values of a platform that knows how to dialogue and fascinate the new generations. So we put together tradition and innovation, moving the asticella every year to a higher level”, said Massimiliano Di Silvestre, Chairman and CEO BMW Italia. The parade of the Elegance Competition on the terrace of the luxury hotel Villa d’Este will be held on Saturday. In addition to the main prize, the “Trofeo BMW Group – Best of Show”, all participants will compete with their own cars for victories in their respective classes, for the public award “Coppa d’Oro”, awarded by Villa d’Este, and for many other awards, including the “Trofeo del Presidente”, which will be awarded by Helmut Kàs, Head of BMW Group Classic and President of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Eleganza. Also this year, BMW Motorrad will launch the Villa d’Este Elegance Competition a concept designed to define new standards in terms of exclusive performance and modern design. As De Silvestre recalled “at the basis of the concept of this event lies the desire to find the balance between technology and the human factor: not only do machines count, people count, between digital avant-garde and physical presence”. For the joy of the many fans there will be many drivers including Roberto Ravaglia, European champion 1986 and world 1987 with BMW. Ambassador of the 2026 edition will be the actor Pierfrancesco Favino. This year’s edition creates metaphorically speaking a bridge between past and future. Starting with the cars shown today at the press during the conference, and all have left a mark in the history of the brand: the BMW E30 (M3) that celebrates 40 years of history, the BMW 635 CSI (50 years of history) and the BMW 2002 Cabrio Bauer (60 years of history). But in Villa d’Este the special guest will be the Alpina brand. As mentioned by Di Silvestre is a vehicle “completely distinguished within the BMW portfolio (distinct by M and Rolls-Royce). It will be the luxury car brand with a high level of craftsmanship, high performance but fluid, differentiating from the very sports performance of the M brand and especially with a limited production. The Alpina brand will make its debut with a concept that will surprise visitors.” “We are proud to create an atmosphere where excellence is born naturally, where history continues to inspire innovation and where each guest becomes part of a truly timeless and extraordinary experience. All this is made possible by the commitment and dedication of the team of Villa d’Este, in close synergy with the BMW team, as well as meticulous care for every detail, which makes this event really memorable. More than a tribute to an illustrious tradition, it represents one of the most prestigious and longevous competitions in the world: a lively celebration of craftsmanship, passion and cultural heritage”, said Davide Bertilaccio, CEO Villa d’Este S.p.A.

MODENA (ITALPRESS) – In 2026 Maserati ran the first hundred years of his iconic logo, the Trident, and his first sports victory obtained in 1926 at Targa Florio. It was, in fact, on April 25, 1926, when Alfieri Maserati aboard the legendary Type 26, conquered the first place of class and the eighth absolute, marking the beginning of an agonistic tradition that contributed to defining the identity of the Brand itself. A symbol that has seen its debut in that competition and that, therefore, tells the origins, ambition and inheritance of a brand born to compete and win on the road and on the track. In a definition: “100 YEARS OF THE TRIDENT”?. With the word RIDE in bold: a reference to the verb that in English evokes that refined and sporty guide that always distinguishes every Maserati. To remember this anniversary, every Maserati event in the world – from sporting events to competitions of elegance, from product presentations to cultural initiatives – in 2026 will transform this special event into a manifesto of identity and pride shared by all trident enthusiasts globally. To express it at best will be a new communication campaign that traces 100 years of history and emotion through the most iconic cars of the Brand. As evidence of the cultural relevance achieved by the symbol of Maserati, moreover, the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy has recently dedicated to the one hundred years of the Trident an ordinary stamp: an institutional recognition that consecrates its value as an expression of Italian excellence in more than 70 markets in the world. ‘The Trident embodies the most authentic soul of Maserati – says Santo Ficili, COO Maserati –. Born on track in 1926, he brought with him the legacy of a company that learned how to build cars after tenths of a second. An invaluable heritage – made of sports victories, iconic models and technical primates – that Maserati women and men keep and renew every day in Modena and around the world. In 2026 we also celebrate 112 years since the foundation, confirming ourselves as the longest brand in the Motor Valley and one of the ambassadors of Made in Italy internationally. There are not many automotive brands that can boast so many anniversaries of such importance. For this reason, we look to the future with the same solidity and strength with which we forged the past. The Maserati logo was officially born in 1926, but it takes shape already in 1925, when Mario Maserati, the only artist of the family and not directly involved in the automotive activity, realizes the first design of the trident, now preserved in the Maserati archives of Modena. The inspiration comes from the Fountain of Neptune in Bologna, located a few hundred meters from the first Maserati workshop, a symbol deeply rooted in the city identity. The first official appearance of the Trident dates back to that year, on Type 26: the car with which Alfieri Maserati entered Targa Florio, conquering the first place in class 1500 cc. It was the first of a long series of successes, including two consecutive editions of the 500 Miglia of Indianapolis (1939 and 1940), four consecutive victories at Targa Florio (1937, 1938, 1939 and 1940), nine victories in F1 and the World Championship of F1 in 1957 with Juan Manuel Fangio. In more recent years Maserati returned to triumph with the MC12, a car that from 2005 to 2010 won six FIA GT international championships, the maximum expression of GT racing derived from production. And since 2023 the Maserati GT2 has brought the Trident House to compete and win in the covered wheeled championships; today it is eligible to participate in more than 20 championships worldwide. In short, the Trident was born on the track, filled with dust of displaced roads and sports ambition, and for decades it meansone thing: competition. The link with motorsport has never stopped completely, not even in the years when Maserati focused on road production. The first emblem, applied on Type 26, was a rectangular badge with a dark trident on a clear background, a graphical solution that however had short life. Already in the early 1930s, in fact, the brand evolves towards the oval form that will become iconic, adopting the red and blue colors of the city of Bologna and defining an identity destined to last over time, with more than forty years of substantial stability both on road cars and on racing cars. In 1980 a gold-bottom variant was introduced, used throughout the production of the period, while in 1997 the logo was redesigned in proportions and style, marking a phase of relaunching the Marchio. The most recent evolution is part of the so-called New Era Maserati, inaugurated by MC20 in 2020, which leads to the debut a substantial restyling of the logo, able to make the Trident more contemporary and elegant, preserving its historical identity. The intervention involved in particular the proportions and design of the three tips, with rounded side arrows to ensure greater visual continuity, a different relationship with the blue shield and a more dynamic overall composition. The oval has been lightened both in the structure and in the color treatment, with the elimination of red in favor of a palette reduced to white and a deep blue, the so-called Maserati Blue, characterized by a lacquered effect. Maserati launches a new campaign dedicated to the 100 years of the Tridente logo, which becomes a moment of sharing the founding values between Brand and its customers. On the air from today on the official channels Maserati, the video puts in dialogue past and present through a cast of cars chosen with precise narrative care: the Type 26, the Ghibli and the MC12 represent the historical heritage of the Marchio, while the GranTurismo Trofeo, the Grecale Trofeo and MCXtrema embody its continuity with the contemporary racing world, red thread that indissolubly binds the Trident to the competitions. The three historical models Maserati start from the pits of Targa Florio. During their journey, they enter a new dimension, where Heritage meets the Future. From the dust of the past the three contemporary Maserati emerge, which advance on a majestic desert of salt. While the three cars run together, they leave behind their decisive and powerful tracks that become, when framed from above, a common path capable of drawing a gigantic Trident. The video was created with a mix of 3D animation and artificial intelligence for a particular aesthetic treatment, accompanied by a specially composed soundtrack, and enriched in closing by the line “A Century of Stories, Signed with One Symbol”. To make the film even more exciting is the narrative voice: thanks to the AI, in fact, was recreated that of Maria Teresa De Filippis (1926-2016), the first woman to have qualified and to run a Formula 1 Grand Prix – that of Belgium in 1958, at the wheel of a Maserati 250F. The campaign is complemented by a series of visuals dedicated to the entire current range shared by the word “100 YEARS OF THE TRIDENT”, with the word RIDE in bold: a reference to the English verb “ride”, to evoke that refined and sporty guide that always distinguishes every Maserati. In addition, to anticipate the new campaign, from 16 to 26 April, fans from all over the world have been able to live a real film journey through the last 100 years of Maserati thanks to an immersive and multisensory experience, which has seen the realization of 10 distinct videos, each dedicated to a decade of the history of Brand, an ode to the evolution of the Trident and the Unparalleled Heritage of Maserati, capace to give life to the key moments of Brand. To tell each episode, the voices of the most important and influential figures in the history of Maserati, starting with Mario Maserati. Moreover, on 9 April last, in the Sala degli Arazzi of Palazzo Piacentini in Rome – seat of the Ministry of Enterprises and of Made in Italy – the ceremony of presentation and philatelic annulment of the stamp dedicated to the centenary of the Trident, belonging to the thematic series ‘the Excellences of the productive system and economicized. The event underlined the cultural value of philosophilia as an instrument of narration of Italian excellence: an object of daily use capable of preserving and spreading a unique symbolic heritage. The graphic project, curated by the Centro Stile Maserati and perfected by the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato, puts in dialogue the contemporary Trident with an evocative plot of the first specimens of 1926, in a game of references that gives continuity and consistency to a evolution long a century. The roots sink into the fountain of Neptune of Bologna, reinterpreted through a contemporary, essential and elegant aesthetic language. The tricolor strip and the ‘CENTENARIO’ legend complete a composition that strengthens the link with the Italian identity. Printed and distributed by Poste Italiane for the current use and the collection circuit, the stamp is flanked by a dedicated philatelic folder, an additional tool for cultural and industrial valorization of the excellence of the country on a global scale.

PECHINO (CINA) (ITALPRESS) – China remains the global automotive market growth engine, and Bosch Mobility is the leading technology partner in the country. In the last financial year, the company’s Mobility sector increased its turnover in China by about 5%, from 116,6 to 122,3 billion yuan (about 15,1 billion euros). Bosch Mobility has achieved more than half of its sales with Chinese vehicle manufacturers, confirming the company’s leading position in this highly innovation-oriented market. In 2025 China represented over a third of global automotive production, with 34,5 million heavy-duty cars and commercial vehicles produced. “The mobility sector in China is on the move and Bosch wants to be at the forefront of its development,” said Stefan Hartung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bosch, at Auto China 2026, in Beijing. “Bosch collaborates with national and international automotive manufacturers in China. We are a technological partner that is highly demanded in mobility, increasingly characterized by software and artificial intelligence, because we can develop and deliver excellent solutions with great speed.” An example is the Autonomous Emergency Steering, an autonomous steering function to avoid obstacles. Bosch has collaborated with a Chinese automotive manufacturer to make this function ready for series production in just six months. The function combines guidance and vehicle control systems to greatly increase safety. If, in case of unexpected obstacles such as a vehicle that suddenly deviates or a pedestrian crossing the road unexpectedly, the braking space is no longer enough, the Autonomous Emergency Steering is activated to avoid collision. Bosch’s Vehicle Motion Management system coordinates brakes, steering and propulsion system with such rapidity and precision that the vehicle performs a manoeuvre without losing stability, even under low road conditions.
In China, Bosch is recording a particularly strong growth in the areas of electric drive systems, on-board computers, new braking systems, semiconductors and advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS) for autonomous driving. Last year, about two thirds of the new cars sold in the country were equipped with a Level 2 driving assistance system. “Bosch is one of the leading suppliers for the fast-growing Chinese market,” said Markus Heyn, member of the Bosch Board of Directors and Chairman of Bosch Mobility. The company has obtained orders for its service functions in all segments of vehicles, from entry-level to premium ones, not only in China, but in all major regions of the world. The Chinese market is aiming at increasingly higher levels of automation. The demand for Level 3 driving functions is growing among automotive manufacturers, confirming this trend. At the same time, China is working on the completion of its legislation for private vehicles. In this context, Bosch Mobility takes the next step in developing autonomous driving, from Level 2 to Level 3. Since March 2026, the company has been authorised to test vehicles with Level 3 driving functions under real conditions in Wuxi, China. Bosch relies on a refined version of an ADAS system that passed a series of tests on the Chery Exeed ES model. While the system allows the vehicle to brake, dirt and accelerate independently, the driver must still keep the maximum attention to traffic. This changes with Level 3, in which the responsibility of the guide passes to the vehicle in specific cases of use, allowing the driver to remove the hands from the steering wheel and divert the look from the road.In an increasingly fast world, Bosch technology returns the precious time spent by car, allowing you to relax on highways and urban highways in China. The Bosch system is able to operate at speeds up to 120 km/h, it works in weather conditions with visibility up to 300 meters and automatically manages lane changes.
With Bosch technology, Level 3 provides real added value for drivers. This is possible thanks to the advances of artificial intelligence. “We use AI in every software component and combine it with redundant security architecture. Our skills cover all domains of the vehicle, and this makes us the ideal partner for manufacturers who want to bring Level 3 on a large scale,” explained Heyn.
Bosch values its strengths in the development of assisted and autonomous driving. The company has expertise in all key areas of a vehicle, including propulsion systems, steering, brakes, sensors, high-performance computers, onboard electronics, software and artificial intelligence. Bosch provides both hardware manufacturers, such as the powerful seventh-generation radar, and algorithms, allowing them to benefit from global presence, economies of scale and a high level of security. “We can transfer knowledge from one market to another. Our goal is to be the preferred partner for Chinese and Western manufacturers,” said Heyn. A Level 3 system for private vehicles, which lifts the driver from the task of driving for prolonged periods, is also interesting for large countries like the United States, with their large highways, as well as for Europe. “The future belongs to those who, like us, can adapt portfolios and supply chains to regional conditions, while at the same time ensuring a worldwide presence,” added Hartung.
By-wire brake and steering systems are a key technology for software-defined vehicles, a very important area for Bosch. In these systems, signal lines transmit the driver’s request to the braking and steering system. For the brake-by-wire, Bosch offers a solution consisting of two independent braking devices: a new concept brake actuator and a traditional ESP® system. “With our brake-by-wire hydraulic system we have developed an interesting product for all major regions. It is based on proven and convenient components and is easy to integrate, which simplifies the transition to new technology,” explained Heyn. Bosch has already signed supply contracts with five manufacturers for this system and plans to start production in cars destined for private transport from the middle of 2026. The system will also be integrated into several robotaxi platforms, whose production should start in 2027. In addition to the hydraulic solution, Bosch also offers a purely electromechanical system. In this way, the company has in its portfolio the braking system suitable for each automotive manufacturer.
With Bosch brake-by-wire and steer-by-wire systems, the driving sensation remains unchanged compared to traditional mechanical systems. The advantages emerge on the functional level: among them, the continuous regulation of the steering ratio, which ensures maximum comfort in parking manoeuvres, greater precision and readiness on winding roads and a performance-oriented setting on the track. The system developed by Bosch stands out for the high level of performance, as cars were able to see directly during recent winter tests in Sweden. On that occasion they appreciated the immediate response of the system, the rapidity of intervention and the accuracy of feedback transmitted from the road. In the Chinese market, Bosch has already conquered diverslocal manufacturers and the company plans to start the standard production of the steer-by-wire system throughout the year on different platforms.
Bosch is also a pioneer in the 48 volt low voltage electric system. This system meets the increasing energy requirements of modern technologies and meets the highest safety requirements, with weight optimization and costs. At Auto China 2026, Bosch and the Chinese automotive manufacturer Chery announce strategic cooperation for the development of a 48 volt electric system.
Bosch has already produced over 25 million electrified mobility components. Only in 2026, the company will provide more than 7 million components and systems for electric and hybrid vehicles worldwide. Bosch supplies over 30 car manufacturers worldwide in the Chinese market.
Bosch is constantly improving its electric motors. The company offers electric propulsion solutions suitable for every type of vehicle, from utilities to sports cars. Its engineers managed to reduce the efficiency losses of electric motors up to 30%, significantly optimizing electric plates, coils and especially the cooling system. For small and compact electric cars, the aluminum stator coils are more suitable than those in copper, allowing you to reduce costs and weight. For sports vehicles, however, Bosch is able to increase the power density of the electric motor up to 50% (up to 16 kW/kg). In 2025 Bosch introduced an e-axle made with a magnesium alloy, which reduces the weight of the housing by about a fifth. The trend towards increasingly integrated solutions, which combine more functions in a single housing, aims to optimize space, weight and costs. For this reason, Bosch offers different modular solutions that manufacturers can seamlessly integrate into their models. The e-axle 6-in-1 combines electric motor, transmission, inverter, onboard charger, DC/DC converter and energy distribution unit. This system will enter serial production with Chinese customers during the year.

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – On the occasion of Milan Design Week, BYD chooses irony as a communication lever, overturning one of the most widespread ways of saying into a shock of energy and transforming skepticism into a brand value. “We do not want washing machines”: one of the most recurring comments when talking about electric vehicles. From here comes a direct and immediate creative concept. In the video, a boy sitting on a Haier washing machine naturally answers the comment “Bella washer”, revealing an innovative secret, in step with the times: the car, a Dolphin Surf, feeds the laundry. A distinctive approach also on the social level: instead of obscuring or counteracting detractors, BYD integrates their comments into the creative process, converting them into compelling content that put the brand into play in an authentic and contemporary way. The first results validate the operation: the content has already exceeded 100,000 views in one day, confirming a strong response of the public and a wide organic diffusion. An ironic way to convey a precise message: the electric car is not only a sustainable alternative, but an enabler of new concrete features. V2L technology (Vehicle-to-Load) becomes the protagonist, demonstrating how the car can evolve from a simple means of transport to a clean and versatile energy source. An idea that is told to all Italians through a targeted social campaign that innovatively enhances the partnership with Haier and the experiential project centered on Dolphin Surf and Vehicle-to-Load technology (V2L). The result is an extension of the concept of electric mobility: from simple driving solution to intelligent energy platform able to interact with the domestic and urban environment. Until 26 April, within the Haier installation, a BYD Dolphin Surf will demonstrate daily the potential of V2L technology, feeding one of the most iconic and widespread Haier appliances in Italian homes. With this activation, BYD consolidates its position as an innovative and culturally relevant player, able to dialogue with the public also through the codes of irony and contemporaneity.

About a month before its official debut in Rome on May 25, expectation is building for one of the most anticipated vehicles in recent years: the Ferrari Luce, which is expected to constitute a watershed moment in the Maranello brand’s history. It is the Prancing Horse’s first totally electric vehicle. In recent days, the debate has centered on its likely list price rather than its technical specs. According to Bloomberg, the start price is likely to be around €550,000. If these estimations are correct, the Luce will quickly lead the spectrum in terms of value, outperforming even models that are already regarded as exclusive and pricey. Among these, the Purosangue, the Maranello-based manufacturer’s luxury SUV, stands out, with prices starting at €450,000. Ferrari’s Luce is a key step towards addressing the energy shift without abandoning its core qualities of performance, design, and individuality.

A result that consolidates the positive trend already emerged in the previous months and that brings the budget of the first trimester to 3.521.110 registrations, with an increment of 4.1% on the 3.382.334 of the correspondent period last year, while still remaining below 15.1% regarding the levels of 2019. In March all major European markets have a positive sign. Germany leads the ranks with a jump of 16.0%, followed by France to +12,9% and from Spain to +11.7%. Italy stands at +7.6%, while the United Kingdom scores a +6.6%, totaling the best volume result for the month of March from 2019, thanks to the half-year change. Italy occupies the third position in the Major Market ranking as in March 2025 and as in the first quarter of this year. On the front of the rechargeable cars, the month of March confirms Italy in the last position among the major markets of the Union for share of rechargeable cars (ECV), with a total penetration of 17.2%, of which 8.7% reported to electric battery cars (BEV) – with a third of the total concentrated on a single brand – and 8.5% to plug-in hybrids (PHEV). The difference from other markets remains considerable: Germany reaches an ECV share of 34.2% (BEV 24,0%, PHEV 10.2%), the United Kingdom of 35.6% (BEV 22.6%, PHEV 13,0%), France of 33.2% (BEV 28.5%, PHEV 4.7%) and Spain of 20.5% (BEV 9.1%, PHEV 11.4%). At the aggregate European level, the rechargeable cars represent 31.8%, with the BEV at 21.8% (+4.7 points compared to the previous year) and the PHEV at 10.0% (+1.6 p.p.); excluding the Italian data, the BEV share rises at 23.5%. The analysis of the first quarter of 2026 returns a similar picture: Italy is again ranked in the last place among the main markets for the diffusion of rechargeable vehicles, with a total incidence of 16.2% (BEV 7.9%, PHEV 8.3%). Comparison with European partners highlights significant distances: Germany with ECV at 33.7% (BEV 22.8%, PHEV 10.9%), United Kingdom at 35.2% (BEV 22.4%, PHEV 12.8%), France at 32.8% (BEV 27.9%, PHEV 4.9%) and Spain at 21.0% (BEV 9,1%, PHEV 11.9%). As a whole of the European market, the ECV reached 30.7% of the share, with the BEV to 20.6% (+3.6 p.p.) and the PHEV to 10.1% (+2.2 p.p.); net of Italy, the BEV share rises to 22.6%. In line with the European emissions reduction targets, UNRAE reiterates the urgency of a reform of corporate car taxation in green key, aimed at speeding up vehicle penetration at zero or very low emissions – up to 60 g/km CO2 – in the national market. It is essential to act on detraibility of VAT, deductibility of costs and period of depreciation, through progressive measures that take priority start from the revision of the deductibility scheme. Such interventions would also reduce the competitive gap between Italian companies of any commodity sector and their European counterparts. Director General Andrea Cardinali stresses that: “According to the latest ACEA report on tax benefits and incentives for electric cars, published in mid-April, tax concessions for electric traction business vehicles are a powerful tool to speed up fleet electrification, so that 18 EU Member States have adopted them, in different ways. Among the main markets, Germany intervenes with accelerated amortisation that, together with 100% VAT deductibility in line with Community discipline, translates into a cost for the company less than 40% compared to Italy. United Kingdom applies aliquote fispreferential calibrations for BEV, Spain accelerated amortisation. In this context, the total absence of measures dedicated to business cars in Italy, unique among the five European Major Markets not to have them.” Cardinals point out that political intervention is no longer necessary: “The adoption of the proposals that UNRAE has long submitted to the Institutions would be a decisive step to combine the achievement of environmental objectives with the strengthening of the competitiveness of the productive system, while at the same time supporting technological innovation and the renewal of the circulating park.” Renewal of the park is an absolute priority in environmental and road safety. With more than 41 million cars in circulation at 31 December 2025 (UNRAE estimate), the Italian park is one of the most extensive in Europe in relation to the population and, at the same time, among the most dated and polluting in the main markets of the Continent: with an average age of 13, our country is second only to Spain for seniority, but with dimensions greater than once and a half. The progressive anagraphic and technological ageing of the fleet therefore appears unreliable, considering the active and passive safety features and the technologies of reduction of emissions obligatoryly present in new generation vehicles. In parallel, for the development of the energy transition, Italy urgently needs an accelerated plan of infrastructure of electric charging, with a territorially homogeneous distribution, and interventions on charging costs, so that the tariffs are in line with those practiced abroad.
