Exporting the model of free prevention overseas, transforming it into a tool for social empowerment and awareness. With this objective, Campus Salute lands in Florida on June 12 and 13, 2026, choosing the West Coast University facilities as the headquarters for a two-day event entirely dedicated to free medical screenings and health education.

This edition is the result of a strategic partnership signed with Doral Pro-Health, born with the ambition to consolidate over time and generate a concrete and lasting impact on the social fabric. A public health initiative made possible also thanks to the logistical and institutional support of West Coast University and Casa Italia Miami, organizations united by the common goal of serving the local community by facilitating access to care.

Campus Salute, which boasts over 15 years of activity and a special consultative status with ECOSOC (the United Nations Economic and Social Council), brings a proven and scalable model to the United States, capable of networking between institutions and local territories.

“Prevention is, first and foremost, a major cultural revolution,” explains Pasquale Riccio, national president of Campus Salute. “Our goal is to bring people closer to awareness, teaching them to take care of their body and mind. Arriving in the main metropolises of the United States is a source of great pride, especially because our activity relies almost entirely on the work of volunteers, who are our true strength.”

A global vision that combines well-being with food sustainability. Unsurprisingly, the Campus promotes the transition toward the “planeterranean” diet—a concept launched by the project’s founder and scientific director, Professor Annamaria Colao—which aims to adapt the healthy principles of the Mediterranean model on a global scale, while simultaneously promoting the “Made in Italy” brand.

The operational heart of the event will be the health fair, where citizens can access a wide range of completely free clinical services. For the occasion, an official delegation led by President Riccio and composed of four long-standing volunteers and three medical specialists will arrive from Italy:

An expert in Clinical Nutrition and Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis.

An endocrinologist specializing in Thyroid Ultrasound.

A specialist in Diagnostic Ultrasound.

Alongside them, the local network coordinated by Doral Pro-Health will complement the offering with a series of crucial healthcare services for the area. The following services will be active during the event:

Chiropractic care and Vitamin Shots (provided by G Therapy Center).

Pediatric services (provided by Bright Future Pediatric).

Rapid HIV testing (offered by U Labs Now & Glades Medical Center).

Acupuncture treatments.

With this new stop in Florida, Campus Salute reaffirms the validity of an international network capable of uniting professionals, institutions, and volunteering. The goal remains the same: to transform community-based healthcare into a right accessible to all, starting right from the heart of the Miami community.

Museums become care facilities, libraries become wellness centers, and art and music are included into therapeutic routes. This is the vision being realized through the new Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Italian Ministries of Culture and Health. The agreement is part of a new view of healthcare policies in which human well-being is based not just on healthcare but also on access to culture. The Memorandum acknowledges museums, libraries, archives, and cultural venues as key players in healthcare pathways, capable of improving the quality of life for individuals and communities. The Memorandum encourages current experiences, such as museum treatment and art therapy, and proposes scientific studies, training for healthcare and cultural workers, awareness campaigns, and the formation of a Joint Scientific Committee. This is a critical step in transforming episodic activities into structured public policy capable of using culture as a key lever for inclusion and well-being.

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – A paradigm shift in the diagnosis and treatment of the polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS): opens the multidisciplinary endocrinological and gynecological clinic dedicated to pathology, the first with access with ticket in the South Center, with an approach that integrates the traditional gynecological vision only to put the tear syndrome. The multidisciplinary clinic, active within the Endocrinology Operational Unit and coordinated by Roberto Baldelli, is the first centre in Rome to offer a diagnostic-therapeutic path for the PCOS in public regime, accessible with the only payment of the prescription ticket for suspect diagnosis. The Policistic Ovary Syndrome is one of the most widespread conditions in the female population in fertile age, with an estimated prevalence between 10% and 15%. It has several signs and symptoms, some of the more purely gynecological nature – such as amenorrhea –, but it hides underlying causes often related to hormonal and metabolic problems, for which an endocrinological evaluation is necessary. Despite this, it is still frequently interpreted and managed as a predominantly gynecological disorder. The new outpatient was born precisely to overcome this approach, thanks to the collaboration between different professional figures, focusing the patient with a complete assignment – from ultrasound diagnostics, to therapies to nutrition – able to manage all manifestations of pathology in the short and long term. “According to the latest scientific evidence and EGOI-PCOS recommendations, PCOS is in most cases an endocrine-metabolic condition, in which the ovary represents one of the target organs and not the primary cause of the disorder,” says Vittorio Unfer, President of the Scientific Association EGOI-PCOS. “ At the base of the syndrome there is often a condition of insulin-resistance and hyperinsulinemia, present in a significant proportion of patients, although not included among the diagnostic criteria of current guidelines. An element that contributes to the development of the main clinical manifestations, including irregularities of the cycle, hyperandrogenism and endocrine-metabolic alterations,” explains Roberto Baldelli, Director of the UOSD of Endocrinology. “The clinic dedicated to polycystic ovary syndrome is important because it allows a structured and multidisciplinary takeover of patients, integrating the gynecological and endocrinological skills. In this way it is possible to guarantee a more accurate diagnosis, a complete evaluation of reproductive and metabolic-hormonal aspects and a targeted treatment on the causes of pathology, improving the effectiveness of care and the quality of life of patients”, says Maria Giovanna Salerno, Director of the UOC of Ostetricia and Gynaecology of the San Camillo-Forlanini Hospitaller Company. The clinical model adopted by the centre is based on these assumptions, in line with the EGOI-PCOS classification, which provides a priority-oriented framework for endocrine-metabolic aspects and a causal therapeutic approach. The path of care pays particular attention to the interventions on lifestyle, with a focus on nutrition and physical activity, flanked – when necessary – by pharmacological or nutraceutical support aimed at improving the insulinic sensitivity. The objective is to intervene on the mechanisms underlying the syndrome and not exclusively on the symptoms, favoring an overall improvement of reproductive and endocrine-metabolic health. The inauguration of the clinic, located at the third floor of the Antonini Pavilion, was held in the presence of Roberto Baldelli, Director of the UOSD of Endocrinology of the Sanillo Camillo-Forlanini Hospitaller Company, Maria Giovanna Salerno, Director of the Hospitaller Companyella UOC di Ostetricia e Ginecology dell’Impresa Ospedaliera San Camillo-Forlanini, di Vittorio Unfer, President of the Scientific Association EGOI-PCOS, and General Director Angelo Aliquò. -photo press office EGOI –(ITALPRESS).

The post Polycistic ovary syndrome, at the San Camillo Roma new endocrinologic ambulatory appeared first on Good Morning Italy.

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – A supply of pediatric drugs for the treatment of childhood ophthalmological diseases was donated by Mariastella Giorlandino on the occasion of the humanitarian mission currently underway in Kenya, promoted by Ripartiamo APS. A statement issued by Fondazione Artemisia ETS makes it known, specifying that this is a concrete intervention aimed at ensuring essential care for children in contexts characterized by a lack of access to health services.

The initiative is part of the broader commitment of the president of the Artemisia ETS Foundation and administrator of the Artemisia Lab Clinical Centres network, for years active in the promotion of prevention, health care and protection of the most fragile bands. The Foundation, recognized by the Lazio Region, operates through free health and welfare services, medical-scientific training activities and health education programs aimed at the whole community, with particular attention to women, children and the elderly.

Entrepreneur, university professor and reference figure in the field of private health, Mariastella Giorlandino has built over time a model that combines clinical excellence and social responsibility. Under his leadership, Artemisia Lab has developed into a network of high-specialized structures spread over the territory, while the Artemisia Foundation has become an active leader in the promotion of the culture of prevention and in the realization of solidarity projects, also in collaboration with institutions and realities of the third sector.

“The donation destined to Kenya strengthens this path, bringing the contribution of Italian health even beyond national borders – explains Mariastella Giorlandino – Guaranteeing care to children means investing in the future of communities. I would like to express my sincere thanks to APS for the constant commitment and extremely fruitful collaboration that made this intervention possible. Their work on the field is a concrete example of operational solidarity and attention to those who live in conditions of particular vulnerability.”.

This is also one of the principles, the note, which inspires the action of the Foundation, always committed to making accessible quality health services without distinction of social, economic or cultural conditions. In this context, the collaboration with Repartiamo APS, a reality committed to the development of international cooperation and volunteering projects, with particular attention to education, health and social inclusion in developing countries. A synergy that confirms the importance of combining skills, resources and visions to generate a real impact in the most fragile communities.

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – The Myces, acronym for Chronic Inflammation Diseases of the intestine, Chron disease and ulcerative colitis, are particularly debilitating pathologies, which often involve not only the intestine, but also other organs of our body, and therefore need continuous care, close controls and sometimes even a specific diet. In Italy, to support patients of this type of disease, for more than 20 years the Association “Friends”, which deals with aggregating, training and approaching the care those suffering from these diseases, trying to guarantee the best care. For 10 years the association has promoted a foundation, the Amici Foundation, chaired by Professor Vito Annese, director of the Gastroenterology Unit and Digestive Endoscopy of the Irccs Policlinico San Donato of Milan and who sees in the Cda also the architect Luigi Bruno and the secretary, Dr. Federica Fatti. The foundation has the task of promoting the association in terms of research, communication, institutional links and promoting independent research on these diseases, also seeking funds that can be used. Interviewed by the Italpress Printing Agency, Professor Annese said: “In the last 20 years we have witnessed a revolution in the field of research of these diseases that we call immunomediate, that is, linked to an abnormal response of the immune system. We have not yet made any progress in understanding the mechanism for which they develop, but there have been enormous advances in terms of therapy. Until 20 years ago we had three therapeutic possibilities, now we have about ten. There was really a great development, a great boost from the pharmaceutical world to allow better control of the disease. Unfortunately, we are not yet at the care and are not yet at the possibility of 100% control.” “Research at the moment is essentially a research supported by industry and is a research that is essentially linked to the production of new drugs and this is obviously a great good for patients. It is more difficult to do an independent research, that is, a research that starts from universities, that starts from the foundations and associations of patients, because there is always need of funds for this – added Annese -. In particular, our idea is to be able to improve the quality of life of these patients, who have a number of problems, such as having chronic fatigue, failing to sleep well, not having the social life they might have and limitations in the world of work. Here, research in this area is still lacking and this is what we would like to promote with a search for funds that we hope to achieve.” “The paradoxical thing is that we do not yet know how many patients with this disease are in Italy. We estimate 250-300 thousand – says the president of the Amici Foundation again -, therefore a number not comparable to the population of diabetics. But they are patients who have a long duration of the disease, which most of the time arises in the early years of life, between the 20 and 40 years of age and therefore have 40-50 years of this pathology. You can imagine what social weight is for the individual and the community of long-term diseases. In this sense, they need registers, as they exist for other similar diseases and as there are in many other European countries, such as Sweden. In Italy we have long been paralyzed also for privacy issues, for secure access issues or in some way protected to data”. “The monitoring is the most important thing is what we try to inculcate to our patients – adds Annese –. I am a clinic, I take care of them directly and so already from the first appointments I say that we must not only see ourselves when things go bene, but we have to see each other periodically to avoid being ill, so to prevent eventually rekindling of disease”. According to Annese, it would also be necessary to extend the health exemption to some tests and examinations related to this disease, which would otherwise be particularly expensive and to encourage the use of wearable equipment, such as shirts and watches that can give a lot of distance information and can give in advance notices that the disease is about to restart, because it increases the heart rate and body temperature before the subject even notices.

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – On the occasion of World Health and Occupational Safety Day, respiratory allergies emerge as an increasingly important issue not only in clinical terms, but also in relation to safety and performance in professional contexts. Tiredness, difficulty of concentration, sleep disorders are only some of the frequently associated manifestations of this condition, which in Italy affects about 20% of the population – more than 12 million people – and which continues to be underestimated both on the diagnostic and therapeutic level. These are high-prevalence chronic pathologies, progressively increasing, with a documented impact on the quality of life, on daily functionality and cognitive performance, from work to study and all those activities that require attention and clarity. Globally, it is estimated that around 600 million people are involved, while in Europe the total cost, between health and economic impact, reaches 30-50 billion euros per year. On the occasion of the event promoted by Consumers’ Forum, with the patronage of INPS, Italian Association Environment and Security, Federfarma and Fenagifar, the document “Allergie Respiratorie e Attention: strategies to reduce the invisible risks” was presented thanks to the collaboration between Società Italiana di Allergologia, Asma e Immunologia Clinica (SIAAIC), Associazione Nazionale Medici del Lavoro e Competenti (ANMA), FederAsma An awareness-raising initiative born from an idea of Opella Healthcare Italy, in line with the mission of promoting an approach to health increasingly accessible and aware, putting health in the hands of people. “With this project we want to help strengthen awareness on the link between health and safety management in living and working contexts – says Raka Sinha, General Manager Opella Italy – Our ambition is to support people in being increasingly protagonists of their health choices, promoting an informed and responsible approach, in line with our Health mission. In your hands”. Respiratory allergies are still underdiagnostic and frequently handled in an unsuitable way: only a limited proportion of patients access a diagnostic path, while about 50% does not take any therapy or use it in a discontinuous way. “ Respiratory allergies are a high-prevalence clinical condition and still widely underestimated or managed without real awareness, with a significant impact on the quality of life, private and professional – observes Mario Di Gioacchino, Past President SIAAIC – In recent years, however, research has led to the development of the most advanced therapeutic options, such as the latest generation antihistamines, characterized by a sustained pharmacological activity, with reduced This allows you to effectively control symptoms by limiting clinically relevant side effects, such as sedation, and preserving levels of vigilance. In this scenario, it becomes essential to promote an approach based on a correct diagnosis supported by up-to-date methods and a therapeutic choice that combines not only with the symptom but which takes into account the patient in its globality.” The increase in the cases observed in recent years is attributable to environmental determinants such as climate change and air pollution, which affect both the duration and intensity of the pollinic season and the loss of biodiversity that favors the alertnessica. The lengthening of exposure periods – up to more than three additional weeks – and the greater allergenity of pollen contribute to a wider and prolonged symptomatology, with a significant impact on the quality of life. In addition to the clinical dimension, the link between respiratory allergies and cognitive function emerges with increasing evidence. The data indicates that up to 61% of patients have sleep disorders, resulting in an impact on attention, reaction times and performance in everyday activities. “Many patients with respiratory allergies do not follow a proper diagnostic and therapeutic path, with significant relapses on sleep quality and concentration capacity – says Sandra Frateiacci, Vice President FederAsma and Allergie. It is important to consider that the reduction of vigilance can be determined both by pathology and by some treatments with sedative effects of which not everyone is always aware. Strengthening dialogue between patients and health professionals is essential to promote more aware therapeutic choices as well as making information about sedative effects of drugs more accessible. In this sense, we have launched an initiative to collect signatures that calls for the introduction of a pictogram on the packaging to clearly report any effects on the ability of attention and guidance.” A survey carried out by AIAS between March and April 2026 on a sample of 60 Italian companies from different sectors of high operational intensity directly representative of the risk – more than half of which of large dimensions – shows how the relationship between respiratory allergies and working context is still little recognized and rarely translated into structured actions. The results are a paradox: the awareness of risk exists, but has not yet been transformed into concrete measures of prevention. Only 18% of companies included risk assessment (DVR), while 32% provided for systematic health surveillance. Even more limited is the attention to the effects of treatments: hardly 2% has formalised procedures for the management of sedative drugs, and about 80% of companies have not activated any awareness-raising initiative on the subject. “We wanted to light the spotlight on a topic that concerns not only health, but also safety at work – says Furio Truzzi, President Consumers’ Forum – The goal is to strengthen the attention on the correct use of drugs and the impact of respiratory allergies, especially in professional contexts that require high levels of attention such as the guidance of means and the management of particularly risky implants, work at altitude. In this context, the document presented today also proposes concrete tools of information for the citizen, such as the introduction of pictograms on the packaging of drugs that signal any effects on vigilance, to promote more aware choices and contribute to the reduction of risks. We now trust in non-formal memberships of enterprises and institutions to our work and in particular to a renewed attention from Parliament and the Government to an improvement in the legislative and regulatory framework.”.

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Plastic surgery, from the Greek verb “plasso”: modeling, shaping, giving shape; literally plastic surgery is the surgery that shapes, reconstructs and restores shape to the human body. The etymological meaning helps to understand the dual soul of discipline: on the one hand, reconstructive plastic surgery forms the body, to return what has been lost due to diseases, traumas or malformations; on the other hand, aesthetic surgery intervenes to improve the harmony of forms and the general well-being of the individual. Two aspects of the same discipline that often enter the field in support of other specialties.

“The plastic surgery is the discipline that allows us to repair everything that is removed or removed for oncologic reasons or ruined by traumas and post-surgical wounds: somehow it is assigned to the repair of function and morphology”, said Francesco Klinger, plastic surgeon of the Materno-infantile department at the Policlinico di Milano, interviewed by Marco Klinger for Top Medicine, agency TV format.

Plastic and aesthetic surgery, explains Francesco Klinger, “they connect each other: aesthetics is aspiring to a morphology that satisfies us, reconstructive plastic is aspiring to restore morphology and function. In the oncological field there are very great demolitions, which are consequence of the removal and removal of so many tumors: in fact, in the large hospitals there are reconstructions after oncological removals even more complex. The pediatric area of the Polyclinic is quite important: the plastic surgeon does in children the same operations that he does in adults and children must pay attention especially to congenital malformations, collaborating with pediatric surgeons to restore morphology and functions. Not having plastic surgery in a large hospital means giving up a whole series of pathologies: this would be a great sin, especially for a great reality like Milan”.

It would be useless, he continues, “to do great orthopedic interventions, that is to restore the integrity of our skeleton, if we are not able to cover it or if our tissues are too damaged to cover what the orthopedic has done: think for example to the large maxillo-facial traumas of the face, in which otogen and neurosurgeon are forced to put hand but if tissues missing the reconstruction component. Our ‘school’ inculcates us to use everything we have available to restore morphology and functions: this makes us unique in our ability to multispecialist collaborations, as happens in a large hospital.”.

One of the most frequent occurrences is the bites of dogs: these, says Francesco Klinger, “are able to provoke dangerous injuries and that can leave very important charitable and functional sequels; in the hospitals where there is the possibility to consult a plastic surgeon, adequate treatment is needed in ways and times.”.

The final reflection is dedicated to the fundamental role of the plastic surgeon for breastology: “The therapeutic path of patients is very often complicated, but it is dealt differently if we are able to restore the breast. Reconstruction is a key element in the path of cancer care: good psychological predisposition helps the path of patient care and promotes the shortest possible reintegration to a path of social, working and family life.”.

The ASP of Palermo signed this morning at Palazzo Steri an agreement of scientific and technological collaboration with the HEAL Italia Foundation, aimed at developing innovative models for the prediction, diagnosis and personal treatment of pathologies, with particular reference to the oncological and chronic diseases. They were the president of the Foundation, Massimo Midiri, and the director of the Health Company, Alberto Firenze, to sign the agreement. The understanding is part of the national program HEAL Italia, which promotes an integrated approach to precision medicine, reporting research, innovation and clinical practice. The agreement provides for research and technological transfer activities, with the creation of pilot projects aimed at preventing pathology and the customization of care paths, also through the advanced analysis of clinical and biological data. “With this agreement – said the Managing Director of the Asp Palermo, Alberto Firenze – we introduce innovative tools that allow to change approach to prevention. Genetic tests allow us to identify in advance the risk of developing certain pathologies, particularly oncological, and to build custom paths for each citizen. It is not only a matter of better care, but to intervene first, with greater precision, offering more adequate and timely answers. It is a perspective that can affect the quality of people’s lives and the organization of health services.” The agreement was signed on the margin of the presentation by the Fondazione HEAL Italia of “Providentia”, National Campaign for awareness raising about the prevention of pathology and health promotion. The campaign begins with a series of initiatives in the city and in the rest of Italy that represent the first step of a wider path of information, research and participation at national and territorial level. “ In accordance with the Pnrr programme – said Massimo Midiri – the Heal Italia Foundation has networked centers of national and international relevance, and already founding members of the same foundation, for the prevention, diagnosis and targeted therapy of rare, oncological diseases (with particular reference to melanoma, testacollo, pancreas, testicle, ovary, breast, prevention), chronic diseases – generative (such as diabetes, metabolic diseases and cardiovas unique model). -photo xd6/Italpress-(ITALPRESS).

The post Precision medicine, agreement between Asp Palermo and Fondazione Heal Italia appeared first on Good Morning Italy.

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – The kidneys have an essential role in maintaining balance in the body: they filter the blood, eliminate the waste, regulate the balance of the electrolytes, control blood pressure and contribute to the production of red blood cells; when the efficiency of the kidneys decreases drains and excess fluids accumulate, with consequences on the cardiovascular, nervous and musculoskeletal system that in the initial stages do not present obvious symptoms. It is estimated that in Italy a percentage between 7 and 10% of the population is affected by chronic kidney disease: according to the Italian Society of nephrology only 10% of patients are aware of their condition and followed by a specialist.

“The Italian data on dialysis patients is worrying: despite therapeutic innovations are always 50-60 thousand people. The pathology has changed: first were glomerulonephriti to bring in dialysis, now it is diabetes while glomerulonephriti have practically disappeared; although in Italy there has been an improvement in recent times, more than 2,300 transplants per year are made”, said Salvatore Badalamenti, head of the Nephrology and Dialysis operative unit and director of the department of Internal Medicine at the Clinical Institute Humanitas.

Most patients, Badalamenti explains, “does not have symptoms: when they arrive it is already too late and the patient already has a level 3 or 4 of creatinine, which is the indication of kidney dysfunction. To those numbers it is difficult to recover, there is little to do: in addition to dialysis you can do transplantation or try to postpone as much as possible the same dialysis with a hypoproteic diet, which risks taking the patient to dialysis a bit further but defecrated”. When the kidney function level becomes worrying, he adds, it is necessary to replace this “with a transplant or dialysis, which can be hemodialysis when it involves blood washing every two days or peritoneal dialysis that the patient can do at home. The difference does not concern efficiency, as the fact that the patient who does peritoneal must have a certain dexterity: if one thinks that now the patients who arrive in the hospital are all elderly diabetics, it means that at home they are not able to handle something that can lead them to serious infections; in Italy the patients in peritoneal dialysis are 15-20%”.

The Director of Internal Medicine of Humanitas focuses on what it considers the most effective tool to assess the health of its kidneys: “I am a great fan of the traditional urine examination: if this tells us that there is the presence of albumin or red blood cells dismorphic means that there is a kidney disease; when a patient with a level 2 of creatinine but with a normal urine test I do not worry, when it presents one with a level 1.5 of creatinine but with a lot of creatinine in the urine or globuli instead.

The last reflection of Badalamenti concerns the issue of prevention, compared to which “my suggestions concern first of all the food: we must make the kidneys work as little as possible, which would happen with a diet too rich in protein or however an excessive protein introit in a single meal; this would hyperfiltrate the kidneys. It also requires strict control of blood pressure: if you manage to keep less on the salt and more on the insect is better for the kidneys. As for drugs, many of them are heavy at the kidney level: for those who already have an insufficiency or malformation it is better not to add anything heavy. The polycystic kidney is the most frequent hereditary disease in humanity: a person in 700 has it, a genetic test is enough to recognize it.”.
