Interviewed about it by blogger Viktoria Bonya, Solovyov said he “did not have insulted” Meloni “as a woman”, but “as a premier”. The same Russian blogger asked Solovyov to apologize to the President of the Italian Council. “Not insult as a woman, it’s a political matter,” insisted Solovyov. According to the television host, Italian politicians would have offended Russian President Vladimir Putin on several occasions.

The CNN explains that the President of the United States expressed his view during a meeting with senior national security officials, in which the Iranian situation was discussed. One of the sources emphasized that Trump “difficultly will accept the plan transmitted to the United States in recent days.”.

“This is delicate diplomatic discussions and the United States will not negotiate through the press – said White House spokesman Olivia Wales at CNN –. As the President said, the United States has the knife on the side of the handle and will reach an agreement only if this will put the American people first, preventing Iran from equipping itself with nuclear weapons.”.

CONVOCATA RIUNIONE D’EMERGENZA A JEDDAH DEI PAESI DEL GOLFO

A special advisory meeting of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (CCG) was convened today in Jeddah. The correspondent of Al Arabiya reported that the emergency summit takes place in the Saudi city overlooking the Red Sea. At the moment no official details of the meeting agenda or the full list of participants have yet been published.

Diplomatic sources however indicate that the Gulf leaders are discussing the latest regional developments, particularly the situation in Iran, the Gulf tensions and efforts to stabilize maritime safety in the Hormuz Strait. The convocation of an extraordinary advisory meeting in Jeddah reflects the growing concern of the Gulf countries for the repercussions of the clashes between Iran, Israel and the United States on the stability of the region.

ARABIA SAUDITA, SICUREZZA HORMUZ RESPONSABILITÀ COLLETTIVA

Saudi Arabia reiterated that the safety of navigation in the Hormuz Strait represents an international collective priority, stressing the need to protect vital routes for the transport of energy, food and medicines. In an intervention before the UN Security Council this morning, the Saudi ambassador to the United Nations, Abdulaziz al-Wasel, declared that the world is witnessing an “unparalleled conflict” around the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic artery not only for the Gulf countries but for the entire global economy. “Any threat to freedom of navigation in the Hormuz Strait directly affects the stability of energy markets, world supply chains and international economic security,” said al-Wasel.

The Saudi diplomat renewed his appeal to the Security Council to explicitly condemn Iranian attacks by Saudi Arabia from the beginning of the crisis to the ceasefire agreement. He also asked to reiterate the respect for the sovereignty of States, the prohibition of the use of force or threat of recourse, and the principle of good neighbour. Al-Wasel expressed regret at the lack of a Security Council resolution on the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that every threat to freedom of navigation is a danger to international peace and security.

The Saudi delegation renewed the firm condemnation of any Iranian action or threat aimed at hindering international navigation through the Strait of Hormuz or jeopardizing maritime safety in the Bab el-Mandeb, demanding that the passage remain open and secure in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.

ARAGHCHI APPREZZA IL RUOLO DI MOSCA SU CRISI GOLFO

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi expressed appreciation for Russia’s support for diplomatic efforts to end the war between Iran, Israel and the United States. After yesterday’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, Araghchi welcomed the return of Moscow to diplomatic initiatives to reach a lasting ceasefire. In a post published today on his X account, the head of Iranian diplomacy underlined the solidity of bilateral relations and said that the last events showed the depth of strategic partnership between Tehran and Moscow. However, the presence of an “unexpected guest” at the summit was aroused in particular attention among analysts and observers: according to Russian and Iranian sources, General Igor Kostyukov, head of Russian military intelligence (GRU).

The Iranian analyst Hamid Reza Azizizi, a fellow at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) in Berlin, hypothesized the Arabiya newspaper that the meeting was not limited to the discussion of the possible agreement to end hostilities or the nuclear dossier, but could also include an exchange of sensitive information. In particular, there would be talk of movements and plans of the American forces in the region, as well as the possibility of a new escalation of the conflict. In the past few hours, the Russian Security Council issued a communiqué on which it warned about the risk that the United States and Israel could take advantage of the current truce to reorganize and prepare for a new phase of hostility against Iran.

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – It was held in the Senate, at the initiative of Senator Antonella Zedda and with the contribution of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China, represented by President Lorenzo Riccardi, a conference entitled “Italy-China: Economic Relations and Investment”. The conference was an opportunity to share reflections on the economic relations between Italy and China and our industrial presence in the market. The Italian Chamber of Commerce in China, part of the network of 86 Chambers of Assocamerestero, is today the largest Italian business association in the Asia-Pacific region. About 1,000 companies in the country belong to our network, including 800 in mainland China and 200 in the special region of Hong Kong.

“In the last year we conducted together with the University of Bologna a research on the historical roots of the Italian presence in this market; through the analysis of the archive documents of the Farnesina we have reconstructed the role of the association in facilitating trade, entrepreneurial networks and Italian mobility in the Far East. This story testifies to the depth and continuity of the links between the two countries throughout the twentieth century,” said Lorenzo Riccardi, President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China.

Today, after more than 120 years from the foundation of the association, there are in China about 1500 Italian companies, with investments for 16 billion euros, that generate a turnover of 33 billion, employ about 130 thousand employees and the exchange has reached 75 billion euros in 2025. China confirms our first market in Asia and the first supplier outside Europe. “Our companies invest in the same sectors that characterize the Italian export: mechanics, high range, fashion, agri-food, pharmaceutical and services” added Riccardi.

In the Geography of investments, the presence is strongly concentrated in eastern China, especially around Shanghai, which houses the largest port in the world and where the largest number of Italian companies in the Far East region is concentrated, along with the neighbouring provinces such as Jiangsu, with the industrial district of Suzhou, and Zhejiang, where new settlements are growing (including Jiaxing and Hangzhou). The total distribution of investments sees about 60% of Italian companies in eastern China, while the other areas share smaller shares, with the North and South both at 16% and South-West at 8%. With regard to trade, in 2025 the Italian export to China (equal to 14 billion euros) focused mainly on textiles and clothing, machinery, pharmaceutical and chemical. Imports from China (equivalent to EUR 61 billion) were mainly chemical, pharmaceutical, electronic.

The exchange reflects the structure of the two economies: on the one hand Italy exports quality goods and manufacturing technology, on the other hand it imports components, electronics and industrial chemicals, in an increasingly integrated system in the global value chains. In the first two months of 2026 trade increased by 8% to 12 billion euros and Italian exports marked a positive delta of 4.5% for 2.3 billion euros of export to China. “Of course, today our companies are facing new and complex challenges: the slowdown in consumption, the real estate crisis, geopolitical dynamics, the difficulties for SMEs and young people in access to the market, as well as some asymmetries in the conditions for foreign companies. At the same time, however, opportunities are proportional to the size of this country. China is today the first purchasing power economy, leader in global trade, industrial production, and promotes in Asia the largest free trade area. The new five-year plan strengthens technological, digital, infrastructure and sustainability development, in line with the bilateral action plan signed between the two countries with a value of 2027, in which the Chamber is also included as a primary actor.

To grasp these opportunities, the institutional missions promoted by the Government and the support of the entire Italian System are fundamental, in a context like the Chinese one where politics plays a central role in guiding the economy. It is also important to strengthen the aggregation between enterprises and promote smaller-scale realities. In this direction the CCIC coordinates the EU SME Centre, project of the European Commission aimed at supporting the presence of small and medium-sized companies in the Chinese market. It is equally important to promote reciprocity and reduce protectionist barriers, while the policies of attraction of Chinese investments towards Italy can help increase interactions and opportunities for Italian companies already present in China. The new tax agreement between Italy and China, in force since 2026, goes in this direction and promotes an increase in bilateral investments, closely linked to the trend of the exchange. It is important to promote a social security agreement, already signed by Germany, France and Spain, but not by Italy. Our companies have benefited from visa-free policies guaranteed by China and a facilitation for long-term Schengen visas would bring further benefits in relations with Chinese entrepreneurs and workers.

Investment attraction policies show an articulated system of tax incentives and special areas in China, with targeted incentives for investments in strategic regions such as the West, the Greater Bay Area and Hainan. Free trade areas and the network of trade and tax agreements strengthen the attractiveness and integration of the Chinese market in the regional and global context. Italian companies, based on the data of our survey 2026, see China as a primary destination in group strategies, with new investments to consolidate the local presence, promote research and development and expand traditional and digital distribution channels, with focus on top of range and innovation. In this context, the value of Made in Italy is expressed in the quality of our industrial fabric and in the presence of our companies in foreign markets,” Riccardi concludes.

The four entertained themselves for the usual photo shoots and for a short exchange of agreeables before entering the presidential residence for a private tea.
The visit of the British sovereigns is part of the celebrations for the 250th anniversary of American independence from the United Kingdom and aims to reaffirm the solidity of the relations between Washington and London, historically allies. The meeting follows the recent state visit of President Trump in the UK, which took place in September, during which the American leader had been received with an unprecedented welcome.
King Charles and Queen Camilla landed just before 15:00 (local time) at the Joint Base Andrews, where they were greeted by the head of U.S. protocol Monica Crowley and the British ambassador to the United States, Christian Turner. In their honor a short musical ceremony was performed with the execution of the national anthems of both countries before the transfer to the White House.
Tomorrow King Charles will take part in a joint session of the Congress, becoming the second British monarch in history to turn to US MPs gathered.

WASHINGTON (UNITED STATES) (ITALPRESS) – “It is necessary to join the shared values that make our country great.” With these words the White House spokesman Karoline Leavitt opened today’s briefing with the press, returning to the events of Saturday at the Hilton Hotel in Washington, where a shooting generated moments of strong tension and alarm among the present during the dinner of the White House correspondents in which President Donald Trump was present along with most members of his administration.

In his speech, Leavitt pointed his finger at the political and media climate, denouncing “aweful lies and spreshing attacks against the President”, who in his opinion contribute to a dangerous environment. According to the spokesman, this type of rhetoric can affect vulnerable subjects, “pushing unstable people to believe in false things and, in the most extreme cases, to perform violent acts.” From here the net appeal: “This must end.”.

The spokesperson then directly linked what happened to the issue of funding of the Department of Homeland Security, defining the episode “the new reminder” of the need to ensure adequate resources for the national security system. Leavitt spoke openly about a “vergognose” situation, underlining that the Department remained without funds for 73 days, “the longest time in U.S. history for a federal agency.” A block that, it has highlighted, has had direct repercussions on the United States Secret Service, key component of the institution protection system.

Retracing what happened on Saturday evening, Leavitt praised the work of federal agents, describing an immediate response in a situation characterized by “great danger and total uncertainty”. “The agents put their lives at risk to protect the President, the First Lady, the Vice President and the members of the government,” he said, focusing on a specific episode documented by the images circulated in the following hours.

“An agent literally jumped on stage without knowing where the bomber was or where the blood came from, putting his body in front of the President of the United States,” he said.

In underlining the daily work of security forces, the spokesman recalled that “they are men and women who do their duty every day, who have families and children, and who continue to operate despite the turbulent political climate surrounding their agency”. Hence the definition of “national currency” referring to the lack of funding of the Department for Internal Security.

Leavitt then criticized the opposition, claiming that “Democratic obstructionism is imposing a huge and completely useless weight on the Secret Service and could cost other lives.” He also added that, if a similar situation had occurred under republican responsibility with a democratic president, the media reaction would have been “unnecessary and inflexible”. “When too much is too much. There should no longer be any debate on this issue,” he insisted, defining the situation “a national emergency”.

In his speech, the spokesman also recalled future security challenges, citing a series of major international and national events scheduled in the United States in the coming years, including the World Cup, the celebrations of “America 250” and the Olympic Games of 2028, as well as the next presidential elections. Events that, according to Leavitt, will make it even more crucial to have a fully operational and adequately funded security system.

Reaffirming the position of the administration, Leavitt recalled President Donald Trump’s appeal, which for weeks urges Congress to unlock funds for the Department. “Democrats have to do what the President has been asking for 73 consecutive days: to finance the Internal Security Department,” he said, “every member of Congress has to put the country in front of party interests.”.

During the briefing, answering the questions of journalists, Leavitt also provided some clarification on operational and safety aspects. With regard to the process of removal of potential threats mentioned in recent days by the President, the spokesman explained that he did not have updated data, referring for details to the Pentagon, but confirming that it is “a process still in progress”.

With regard to the revision of the security protocols after the Saturday episode, Leavitt pointed out that at the moment no specific changes have yet been identified, but announced that a meeting is scheduled for the White House during the week to assess any interventions. He also pointed out that the Secret Service, for obvious reasons of security, does not publicize the details of its operating procedures, since this information could be exploited by individuals who are willing to bypass protection systems.

Finally, the spokesman also addressed the issue of preventive measures at major institutional events, explaining that hypotheses such as the designation of a “designated survivor” are already the subject of internal discussion. However, he clarified that in the specific case of Saturday several members of the government in the line of succession were not present for personal reasons, circumstance that made it unnecessary to identify a single designated substitute.

NEW YORK (USA) (ITALPRESS) – In the quiet of the Hudson Valley, in Cold Spring, Magazzino Italian Art is confirmed as the main outpost of Italian post-war art in the United States. In this context is inserted Tutto Boetti 1966-1993, the new exhibition dedicated to Alighiero Boetti, a central figure of the Povera Art, inaugurated with a press preview and accompanied by an international symposium. The exhibition, which can be visited until 2028, brings together about thirty works that span three decades of artist activity, offering a targeted rereading of his research. The route starts from the experiments of the Sixties in Turin, with works realized through industrial materials and essential structures, up to the famous textile works, including the famous Maps, born from the collaboration with Afghan artisans. Among the works on display are key moments such as Mazzo di tubo (1966) and Da mille a mille (1975), which mark the passage from a reflection on matter to a wider survey of systems, seriality and the role of the author. Themes that cross the entire production of Boetti and that today appear surprisingly current.

To underline the value of the project was the director of the museum, Nicola Lucchi, who highlighted how the exhibition comes back in a broader program of study and deepening dedicated to the protagonists of the Arte Povera. A work that Magazzino has been carrying out for years thanks to the vision of the founders, Giorgio Spanu and Nancy Olnick, whose private collection is the heart of the museum. The central moment of the inauguration was the symposium organized in collaboration with the Alighiero and Boetti Foundation, thought not as a simple celebration but as an open conversation on the present of the work of Boetti. The goal was not to look at the past, but to question how his insights continue to influence contemporary art. To participate, some of the most authoritative voices of the contemporary Italian artistic panorama: Massimiliano Gioni, Francesco Clemente, Paola Pivi, Ilaria Bernardi, Stefano Arienti and Giordano Boetti, together with other artists and scholars. A comparison that focused on the fundamental themes of Boetti’s practice, such as collaboration, language, systems and creativity, highlighting their continuity in the present.

The dimension of the collaboration, a distinctive element of Boetti’s work, has also emerged strongly in interviews gathered during the event. From the delegation of execution in paper works to embroidered maps, the artist’s work has continually questioned the idea of individual authorship, anticipating dynamics today central in global artistic production. Magazzino Italian Art, a museum founded in 2017 and expanded in 2023 with the Robert Olnick Pavilion, is not only an exhibition space but a real centre of research and dialogue. In this sense, Tutto Boetti 1966-1993 represents something more than an exhibition: it is a critical device that reactivates the thought of an artist able to speak strongly at our time.

The site cites an American official and two sources aware of the facts: diplomacy is in a stalemate and Iranian leadership is divided on which nuclear concessions should be placed on the table. The Iranian proposal would correct this problem by pointing to a faster agreement.

According to three U.S. officials, today Trump should hold a meeting in the Situation Room on Iran with his flagship team for national security and foreign policy. A source said Trump’s team will discuss stalling in negotiations and possible next steps. In an interview released on Sunday at Fox News, Trump wanted to continue the naval blockade that is suffocating Iranian oil exports, hoping that this will lead Tehran to surrender in the coming weeks.

I read a poster, he was a Christian believer, then he became an anti-Christian and he underwent many changes. He’s going through a bad time, judging by what he wrote. Her family was very worried. He was probably a rather sick person.” So the president of the United States, Donald Trump, in an interview with the Cbs News program “60 Minutes”, to the question whether he was the target of the bomber during the dinner of the White House correspondents.

“I wasn’t worried. I understand life. We live in a crazy world,” he adds. “I was surrounded by fantastic people. And I probably made them act a little slower. I said: Wait a minute, wait a minute. Let me see,” Trump explained as to the crucial moments in which he was taken away. On the criticism of safety measures he replied: “Even he was quite incompetent, because he got caught. And he got caught pretty easily. Those guys did a good job last night. They really did a great job.”.
