ROME (ITALPRESS) – “It is not within the competence of the regions to legislate on this issue.” Minister for European Affairs, PNRR and Cohesion Policies Tommaso Foti told “Ping Pong” on Radiouno, responding to a question about the Tuscany region’s end-of-life law. “It is true that there is the Constitutional Court ruling of 2019, so it seems to me that for 6 years Parliament has not intended to legislate, with different majorities than the current one. If today the Pd-led Tuscany Region feels it has to enter in my opinion outside the current legislation, but with its own measure of law, it is a defeat of the inaction of the Democratic Party.” Will the government challenge the law? “Challenges are not done on television, but are done in the Council of Ministers. It is clear that appealing to the Constitutional Court is not a political decision, but it is a decision that is married on a technical basis.”
