ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Fincantieri has signed a strategic agreement to speed up the development of the autonomous units of surface of Defcomm, Italian startup specialized in unmanned solutions for the marine sector, thus confirming the Group’s will to give impetus to technological innovation through collaboration with emerging realities and excellent with investments in new critical skills to consolidate its industrial leadership, in particular within the framework of the unmanned dual-use solutions to high technological content. In detail, he explains a note, the understanding focuses on a co-investment agreement to accelerate developments and industrialization of surface drones designed by Defcomm who have already passed long run and endurance tests. These drones are designed for surveillance, intelligence and patrol missions and stand out for the high flexibility of use, being able to operate in completely autonomous, remotely and manually controlled mode, as well as for high speed performance. This agreement will also allow Fincantieri to develop and integrate on its own Naval Units the ability to deploy autonomous surface media, both for domestic and international customers. The collaboration between Fincantieri and Defcomm will also support the next exercises activities during which the advanced capabilities of the platforms will be presented and their interoperability in complex scenarios.
