PARIGI (FRANCIA) (ITALPRESS) – The former President of the French Republic, Nicolas Sarkozy, entered the prison “La Santè” in Paris to conquer the final sentence at 5 years, which was inflicted on him last month, for the Libyan financing of his election campaign.
Sarkozy, 70 years old, left this morning around 9:00 his home with his wife, Carla Bruni, acclaimed by a hundred protesters who responded to the appeal launched to support the former president and his family. “Nicolas! Nicolas!”, “Liberate Nicolas”, has marked the crowd.
On X, when he left home escorted by numerous police officers, Sarkozy reaffirmed his “innocence”. “I will continue to denounce this judicial scandal, this path of suffering that I have suffered for over 10 years.” Speaking to journalists in front of the prison, his lawyers have made known that they have filed the request for detention.
