BERGAMO (ITALPRESS) – Atalanta returned to winning ways after two consecutive defeats. The Nerazzurri won 3-2 against Fiorentina thanks to goals by Retegui, De Ketelaere and Lookman; the purple goals by Martinez Quarta and Kean that had twice put Palladino’s team ahead were useless. Second league success for the Nerazzurri, who will return to the pitch on Thursday against Arsenal in the first game of the new Champions League. On the other hand, the purple team, still dry of victories, will challenge Lazio: after a good first half, the Tuscan team will absolutely have to react to the dips that marked the beginning of the championship. The first quarter of an hour had suggested to a blocked match, dull, with few emotions. Then suddenly Fiorentina’s first goal popped the cork: Martinez Quarta, after a scrum generated on the development of a corner kick, found the winning deflection. The hosts responded immediately with Retegui’s running header, but on about the half-hour mark Kean, diving in, rekindled the hopes of Palladino’s team. La Dea took the blow, the former Juventus striker also hit the post, grazing the 3-1 goal. The reaction at the end of the first half by Gasperini’s men was incredible, within two minutes first De Ketelaere’s header – off Ederson’s free kick – and then Lookman managed to overturn the score. In the second half the Nerazzurri upped the tempo trying to take advantage, and Bellanova nearly dropped the poker after a mistake by Martinez Quarta. The Bergamasks tried several times with Lookman, but the Nigerian striker failed to find the right play: Fiorentina, on the other hand, after playing a good first half failed to give continuity to the offensive maneuver creating little and nothing from Carnesecchi’s sides. Therefore, the first match in the new, totally renovated Gewiss Stadium closed with a victory: on Thursday the Nerazzurri fans will be able to experience another dream evening in the challenge against Arsenal. – Photo Ipa Agency -(ITALPRESS).
