VERONA (ITALPRESS) – Inter overwhelmed Verona and overtook Napoli at the top of the standings, pending the challenge between the partenopei and Roma. Five Nerazzurri goals, with the signatures of Correa, Thuram (double), De Vrij and Bisseck, in front of an extremely passive and defensively compromised Verona lineup. Verona seemed to get off to a good start, however, with a double chance between the fifth and sixth of the game: first Daniliuc, caught on a spot kick and good at directing a header toward the goal of a not very attentive Sommer who awkwardly repelled; then with Tengstedt, who hit the crossbar after a nice restart and assist by Tchatchoua. On 17′, however, the Nerazzurri would find the lead, on the phrasing between Thuram and Correa that allowed the Argentine to find himself alone in front of Montipò and mock him with a dig. Barely five minutes pass and Inter find the double, with Correa returning the assist for Thuram’s solo breakaway, cold to jump and beat Montipò. The scene, that of 2-0, was to be repeated in almost identical fashion on 25′, with Bastoni’s feed again for the Frenchman, relentless in sealing Inter’s third goal. Inzaghi’s eleven would not be satisfied and would even find the fourth goal, on 31′, on Asllani’s backward pass for De Vrij, who took over in the first quarter of the hour due to a physical problem suffered by Acerbi. At the end of the first half the fifth goal for Inter would also arrive, this time with Bisseck, rapacious inside the box and good at turning the ball left loose by a still too passive Verona into the goal. Understandably lower rhythms in the second half, with many changes on the Verona side and an Inter side in full management. Practically no dangerous chances in a second half of much Nerazzurri ball possession, with Inzaghi also taking advantage to manage his rotations in view of the many commitments between Champions and league. Result, the one sealed already in the first forty-five minutes, which will then be final following the 2 of recovery granted by referee Colombo. – photo Ipa Agency -(ITALPRESS).
