ROME (ITALPRESS) – Intesa Sanpaolo once again ranks first in Europe for relations with institutional investors and financial analysts and for ESG aspects, according to the 2024 ranking compiled by specialized research firm Extel (formerly Institutional Investor Research). Within the European banking sector, Carlo Messina-the Group’s Managing Director and CEO-is the best Chief Executive Officer for the seventh year since the introduction nine years ago of the ranking, which takes into account the votes of both institutional investors and financial analysts. In the other two years, Carlo Messina ranked second.
Intesa Sanpaolo’s Board of Directors ranked first, for the third year, among those of European banks in the specific ranking, first introduced three years ago. Stefano Del Punta, Senior Advisor to the CEO since April, was ranked best Chief Financial Officer for the eighth consecutive year. The Investor Relations team, led by Marco Delfrate and Andrea Tamagnini, was the best among European banks for the seventh year. Marco Delfrate is first among Investor Relations Professionals for the seventh consecutive year. Intesa Sanpaolo was confirmed first among European banks for ESG aspects (strategy, engagement and disclosure) for the fifth consecutive year.
The awards given by Extel-which are based on the results of an extensive survey of about 1,800 institutional investors and financial analysts-witness the strong appreciation of the international financial community for an Italian excellence with strong capacity for innovation and a strong focus on sustainability and social engagement, while recognizing the quality of the CEO and management team, which has long been at the top of the European rankings in the preferences of investors and financial analysts. Extel is an independent research provider with a high reputation among institutional investors and financial analysts, having been in the market for more than 50 years. “It is a source of great satisfaction and pride to once again receive such important awards, which testify to Intesa Sanpaolo’s leadership in Europe. This has been possible above all thanks to the commitment of all our people, to whom my heartfelt thanks go, to a prepared and cohesive management team, to a unique, well-diversified and resilient business model, and to high investments in technology. Transparency and responsible communication, we are convinced, are an essential part of dealing with all our stakeholders. This has been and continues to be a source of strong appreciation from investors and financial analysts, who for several years have recognized our ability to meet and exceed our commitments and our marked sensitivity to ESG issues, with a position at the top worldwide for social impact.” says Carlo Messina, CEO and Managing Director of Intesa Sanpaolo.
