Israel-Hamas, ceasefire agreement reached. Trump “Epic agreement”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Israel and Hamas have reached an agreement on a ceasefire and the release of hostages.

Qatari premier Sheikh Tamim al Thani announced the successful mediation conducted with the United States and Egypt. The Qatari premier explained that on Sunday begins the implementation phase of the agreement on which there is agreement on every single point. In the first phase there will be the withdrawal of Israeli troops from eastern Gaza.

“This epic ceasefire agreement could only have happened as a result of our historic victory in November,” writes U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on social Truth.
“Our victory signaled to the world that my administration would seek peace and negotiate agreements to ensure the safety of all Americans and our allies. I am thrilled that American and Israeli hostages will return home to be reunited with their families and loved ones,” he added. “With this agreement in place, my national security team, through the efforts of Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, will continue to work closely with Israel and our allies to ensure that Gaza never again becomes a safe haven for terrorists. We will continue to promote peace through force throughout the region, using the momentum of this ceasefire to further expand the historic Abrahamic Accords. This is just the beginning of great things to come for America and, indeed, for the world. We have accomplished so much without even being in the White House. Just imagine all the wonderful things that will happen when I return to the White House and my Administration is fully confirmed so that we can ensure more victories for the United States,” Trump concluded.

“An agreement has been reached between Israel and Hamas. It is the same structure as the agreement I proposed in May. It was one of the most difficult of my career,” outgoing U.S. President Joe Biden said in a press statement.
“Soon the fighting will end and the hostages will return to their families, and there will be more humanitarian aid to Gaza. There will be three phases, at the end of which there will be a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and the release of the hostages. Some of the American prisoners will be released during the first phase,” he adds.

“Italy warmly welcomes the announcement of an agreement for a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of the hostages in the hands of Hamas and congratulates Egypt, Qatar and the United States for the result achieved after a long negotiating effort that the Italian government – also as the G7 presidency – has always supported with conviction,” reads a note from Palazzo Chigi.
“Italy has followed closely from the beginning the painful affair of the hostages in the hands of Hamas and now expects that all the hostages will finally be able to return to their families,” the note continues. “The ceasefire provides an important opportunity to substantially increase humanitarian assistance to the civilian population of Gaza. Italy will continue to engage in this area, including through the Food for Gaza initiative focused on food security and health. Italy is ready to play its part, together with its European and international partners, for the stabilization and reconstruction of Gaza and to permanently consolidate the cessation of hostilities, also with a view to relaunching a political process towards a just and lasting peace in the Middle East, based on the two-state solution, with Israel and a State of Palestine living side by side in peace and security, within mutually recognized borders.”

The Gaza ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas provides for an initial six-week ceasefire phase and includes a phased withdrawal of Israeli forces and the release of hostages held by Hamas in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel. Qatar, Egypt and the United States guarantee implementation of the agreement, stressing that all living hostages will be released first, then the remains of deceased hostages. Hamas will release hostages over six weeks, three hostages each week and the rest before the end of the period.

Negotiations on the second phase of the agreement will begin on the 16th day of the first phase and are expected to include the release of all remaining hostages, including male Israeli soldiers, a permanent ceasefire, and a complete withdrawal of Israeli soldiers.

The agreement calls for 600 truckloads of humanitarian aid to enter Gaza each day of the truce, 50 of which will carry fuel, while 300 trucks will be destined for the northern Gaza Strip.

An Egyptian source confirmed to Al-Qahirah News Channel this evening that, thanks to the efforts of mediators and after hours of hard work, an agreement has been reached to end the suffering of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. The source reported that a joint statement was issued regarding the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
