Lazio regains victory, 3-0 to Genoa

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Lazio immediately redeems the defeat against Juventus and finds the three points against a Genoa side that, instead, fails to give continuity to the comeback draw against Bologna and remains stuck in third-last position: at the Olimpico it ends 3-0. In addition to the disqualified Romagnoli, Baroni must also do without Zaccagni due to flu and deploys Noslin from the first minute, while Gilardino confirms the starting eleven from the last round, inserting only the new additions Vogliacco and Zanoli. The Rossoblù start with a good attitude and force Provedel to intervene with his feet as early as 2′, to repel Martin’s attempt directly from a corner. As the minutes go by, Lazio picks up meters and pushes especially on the left with the usual Tavares, who creates space for a powerful diagonal shot just high. On 21′, the Portuguese is the protagonist with an overwhelming action: stopped, the ball comes right to Noslin, who skips past Sabelli and Vogliacco and slips a low shot at the second post on which Leali can do nothing. The match is lively but without clear chances, and above all the forwards are missing, little involved on either side. On the return from the locker room Gilardino plays the Norton-Cuffy card, who after a few seconds goes all over the field by central routes arriving at the shot, repelled by Provedel. The Biancocelesti respond with Castellanos, who first shoots sky high after a suggestion from Tavares, and then is closed down well by Leali after a nice play on the goal line. Lazio looked tired, so Gilardino inserted Ekhator and Ankeye to try to sting, but the latter exited after a few minutes due to a knee knock. In the last twenty minutes, Lazio took back the ball of the game thanks also to the entry of Tchaouna and Pedro: the former wasted a great chance to double but was instrumental in the 86th minute in starting the restart that, after Castellanos’ low cross, led to the goal by the former Barcelona and Chelsea, crowning a very important impact on the match. Vecino’s header on Tavares’ cross also came in the recovery.- Photo Ipa Agency -(ITALPRESS).
