Milan breaks the ice, poker of goals at Venezia

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Milan overwhelmed Venezia 4-0 and found its first league win. Fonseca’s men filed the file in less than half an hour, showing a different face from their first three outings of the season. The Rossoneri started off strong and after 90 seconds immediately took the lead. Hernandez recovers the ball, duels with Leao, enters the box and fires a low shot to the first post on which Joronen is surprised, with the ball ending up in the back of the net after going under the goalkeeper’s legs. The doubling came in 16′. Pulisic kicks a narrow corner, Fofana touches the ball with his head and the ball slips past Joronen’s shoulders, with Gabbia appearing to touch the ball but failing to do so. The goal will later be credited to the Frenchman, on his first goal of the season. The guests are in serious trouble, and on 22′ Reijnders goes for a shot, finding the goalkeeper uncertain on the rebound on which Abraham, who is fouled by Joronen, ventures. The referee awarded the penalty and from the penalty spot came Pulisic, who did not miss and dropped his hat trick. A few moments pass and Leao receives the ball, enters the box and falls to the ground after a clash with Schingtienne. The match director, after Var review, concedes a new penalty. This time it was Abraham’s turn to take the run-in from 11 meters and score the first goal in his new jersey, which made it 4-0 with which the two teams went to rest. At 4′ of the second half, it took a diving intervention by Joronen to stop a close-range right-footed shot by Leao. The Lagosians sealed the flagship goal in 26′ with Zampano, but it was nullified after Var review for a foul by Nicolussi Caviglia on Loftus-Cheek early in the action that also cost him his second yellow and red card. In the final, the hosts administered without sinking the blow further, dragging the match to Di Marco’s triple whistle. The standings now see Milan climb to eighth place with five points, while Venezia remains last with only one point to their credit. Hernandez and his teammates are now expected, on Tuesday evening, to test Liverpool in their home season debut in the Champions League.- Image Photo -(ITALPRESS).
