MANDELLO DEL LARIO (ITALPRESS) – The Guzzisti people have returned to Mandello del Lario. Like every year in September, thousands of Guzzisti returned to visit that enchanting branch of Lake Como where their beloved motorcycle was born. Because every Moto Guzzi has to go back, sooner or later, to where it was built, no matter if a hundred, or sixty, or three years ago, or if only a few weeks ago it came out of the legendary red front door on Via Parodi. The one at the Eagle’s Nest is a real pilgrimage, and as always, along with the people of Moto Guzzi lovers, a flood of motorcycle enthusiasts, groups of friends, and families has arrived. All to celebrate the celebration of an Italian brand that has come to be loved all over the world. At the end of the festive days there were thirty thousand attendees and the Moto Guzzi Museum alone welcomed more than 22,000 visitors, fascinated by a collection of motorcycles unique in the world. The scenario that Guzzisti found was quite different from the usual one. In the factory space that, in past editions, housed the village, the traditional epicenter of the festivities, is now rising the Moto Guzzi production plant of the future. A totally new construction, which will soon return not only an absolutely avant-garde factory in which the next Moto Guzzi bikes will be born, but also a new environment with open and usable spaces for the public, which will be a center of community gathering and a destination for enthusiasts from all over the world, thanks also to the presence of the new Moto Guzzi Historical Museum. Meanwhile, the Museum, still in its traditional location, continues to be one of the most visited places with the twenty-two thousand people who visited it during Open House, attracted by the precious collection of more than 150 unique examples. In the area in front of the red gate, which has always been the symbol of the Mandello plant, the Aquila shop was set up, offering guests the opportunity for rich shopping with merchandising and accessories signed Moto Guzzi. Unmissable was the display of the entire Moto Guzzi range: from the inimitable V7 in all its fittings, to the very modern V100 Mandello, as well as the latest arrivals Stelvio and V85. All models were offered for free test rides that allowed nearly 1,300 motorcyclists to try Moto Guzzi motorcycles along the enchanting roads of the Lario. The 2024 edition of Moto Guzzi Open House featured the noblest sport, the one that can boast the Olympic laurel. At the historic headquarters of the Canottieri Moto Guzzi, in an evening hosted by Ringo and Virgin Radio, Andrea Panizza, fresh winner of the silver medal at the recent Paris Olympics in the specialty of the four of a pair, was honored. Andrea, who grew up in the Canottieri Moto Guzzi, is the continuation of the extraordinary tradition of the Mandello sports club, which boasts 17 Olympic medals in its palmares from 1948 to the present, as well as a series of 22 world and European laurels.
