MODENA (ITALPRESS) – Change at the top of Maserati Corse effective Oct. 1. Maserati sincerely thanks Giovanni Sgro for leading the Brand’s sporting activities with great commitment and dedication over the past two years.Sgro has been responsible for bringing Maserati back to its natural environment, the racetrack, and has directed all operations within the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship and the Fanatec GT2 European Series. Giovanni also oversaw, from the very beginning, the development and launch of the exclusive Maserati MCXtrema halo car. Effective October 1, Maria Conti assumes the position of Head of Maserati Corse, reporting directly to Davide Grasso, CEO of Maserati, and functionally to Jean-Marc Finot, Senior VP, Stellantis Motorsport. Maria Conti has an established track record in Communications in the automotive and lifestyle industries internationally for more than two decades.Previously, she served as Chief Communication Officer for the House of the Trident, following a career path at iconic, premium and luxury brands. Now returning from maternity leave, Maria Conti is the first woman to head Maserati’s motorsport activities. Cars and communication are part of her DNA: her watchwords include expertise, creativity and a lot of enthusiasm that she will also bring between the kerbs, helping to renew the competitive spirit of the Brand. “I thank Giovanni for the passion with which he has supported Maserati’s return to the track and for helping to make Maserati Corse a reality. We have begun to write a new important page in the 110-year history of our Brand, which is back where it was born, collecting victories, satisfactions and important results on circuits around the world.
