ROME (ITALPRESS) – To explore the world of sports in a 360-degree way, chronicling its growing impact on Italy’s social, economic and cultural fabric. This is the goal of SportMag Italia, the new magazine of SportLabItalia, whose issue zero was presented at Palazzo Ripetta in Rome. An initiative that also moves from the constitutional recognition of sport in 2023, analyzing the investments, initiatives and personalities that are contributing to the revitalization of the sector. “The Olympics gave us additional energy because, compared to the past, it was an event that was seen much more. There is also a theme of investment and revitalization of the suburbs, and therefore the social value of sport, all aspects that were generally little investigated,” explained SportMag editorial director Lavinia Spingardi, a journalist and well-known face of Sky. The event was opened by Elena Silva, CEO of Burson Italia, who emphasized that sport has “values that we all recognize. We have a 2025 in front of us with, among others, the Special Olympics Winter World Games, the Universiade and the canoe and kayak world championships, and then the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. Let’s seize this series of extraordinary events to start a sports journey that will increase the focus on Italy by the world sports system.” SportMag will not only be a printed magazine, with a quarterly cadence and in which each issue will be monothematic and informative, so without too many technicalities to raise awareness among an increasingly wide audience: “We will have a web part with a blog open to all, a permanent platform that feeds the dialogue between institutions, companies, local authorities and all players, because it is essential to work as a system, give space to projects on the territory and help the suburbs to relaunch themselves,” in fact added Pierangelo Fabiano, CEO of CORE Thinking Connections. Several interlocutors spoke, including the director of the Sport Impact Area of Sport and Health, Rossana Ciuffetti: “We are working on situations of hardship, together with the Istituto per il Credito Sportivo we have worked to create a large study center. We have to move to the right to sports, our commitment is to increase sports practice. There are many challenges but they give great satisfaction. “Also present were political figures, such as Senator Guido Quintino Liris, who spoke of facilities as a “social shock absorber that institutions must support. Sport, once it enters into the Constitution, becomes exceptional as a prescription element, to be invested in and to be placed side by side with nutrition and lifestyle issues.” Finally, the Honorable Mauro Berruto highlighted “a paradox: we are a country that confirms a very high profile in high-level sports, but we are in the last positions in the rankings with respect to widespread sports practice and school sports. The inclusion of sports in the Constitution is an important step, but it would be criminal if it remained a symbolic aspect: the right to sports is a necessary step. It is time for public policies that take care of the right to sport, which needs special attention.”- photo spf/Italpress -(ITALPRESS).
