Rodrigo Paz elected president of Bolivia “We will open the country to the world”

LA PAZ (BOLIVIA) (ITALPRESS) – Bolivia has a new president: Rodrigo Paz won the election and will take office from 8 November. According to the preliminary results provided by the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, in the ballot the centrist Paz has imposed with 54% of the votes against 45% of the opponent Jorge “Tuto” Quiroga and the “tendenza is irreversible”, as emphasized by the president of the TSE, Oscar Hassenteufel. Quiroga himself has already admitted defeat, complimenting the rival candidate: Paz, 58-year-old Senator, is called to give a turn to Bolivia, governed in the last 20 years by the left of Movimiento Al Socialismo (MAS), founded by Evo Morales.

“We will open Bolivia to the world,” said Paz, “we are ready to collaborate with everyone to get out of the crisis” where the nation is. “The stronger is our democracy, the greater the serenity for the Bolivian people. Bolivia – it has highlighted – breathes the wind of change and renewal to move forward”.
