ROME (ITALPRESS) – Roma’s chief executive officer Lina Souloukou has resigned. The capital club announced. “We thank Lina for her dedication during a particularly critical phase for the club and wish her the best in her future professional challenges,” it reads. “The ownership remains fully focused on Roma’s growth and success, with a constant attention to the values that make our team so special.
Souloukou’s resignation comes at the end of a complex week at Roma, to say the least, with the exoneration of Daniele De Rossi and the arrival on the Giallorossi bench of Ivan Juric. Underlying De Rossi’s dismissal would also have been disagreements precisely with Souloukou, who arrived in the capital at the behest of the Friedkins in April last year. The decision made on De Rossi sparked discontent among Giallorossi fans, with banners calling her “the evil of Rome.” Souloukou also reportedly ended up under police protection on a par with her two children.
