Roma revolution: exonerated De Rossi, bench to Juric

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Revolution at Roma: exonerated Daniele De Rossi and bench given to Ivan Juric. The convulsive day at the Giallorossi began in the morning with the somewhat surprise announcement of the divorce from the former midfielder, a decision “taken in the interest of the team, in order to promptly resume the desired path, at a time when the season is still at its beginning. To Daniele, who will always be at home in the Giallorossi club, a heartfelt thanks for the work done in these months with passion and dedication. Communications on the technical leadership of the team will follow.” The former captain, who arrived on the Roma bench on January 16 to replace exonerated Jose Mourinho, had signed a three-year contract with the club at the end of last season. His exoneration came after just four days in the league with a tally of three draws and one defeat. In the evening then came the name of the replacement, Ivan Juric. The Croatian coach, born in 1975, signed with the Giallorossi until June 30, 2025. Juric, after a career as a player between Croatia, Spain and Italy, began his coaching career in youth soccer and then as an assistant coach alongside Gian Piero Gasperini. He made his Serie A debut in 2016-17 on the Genoa bench, after achieving – in the previous season – promotion to the top league with Crotone, the first in the history of the Calabrian club. From 2019 to 2021 he led Hellas Verona, accompanying the Gialloblù to two consecutive salvations, also enhancing the value of several players. In 2021 he took over as manager of Torino, staying on until 2024 and becoming the second coach with the most benches in the last 20 years of the granata club’s existence.
Juric will make his debut on Sunday at the Stadio Olimpico against Udinese.
