MILAN (ITALPRESS) – On the occasion of World Heart Day, which is celebrated on Sunday, Sept. 29, the San Donato Group, in collaboration with the GSD Foundation ETS, is dedicating a week to raise awareness, information and prevention of cardiovascular disease. With more than 20 million deaths each year, cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of hospitalization as well as mortality, confirming itself, along with cancer, among the leading causes of death in the world. Today more than ever, the development of concrete and educational actions to prevent and promote the health of the heart and cardiovascular system is essential. San Donato Group’s Heart Week aims to raise awareness of the importance of early detection and prevention by promoting regular checkups and the adoption of healthy lifestyles. From Monday, Sept. 23 to Saturday, Sept. 28, more than 350 cardiology examinations and screenings will be available free of charge at San Donato Group hospitals.Heart health is also at the center of the GSD Foundation ETS’s many projects involving research on gender medicine, the biobank for the recounting of biological samples and clinical data of patients with cardiovascular diseases, and the use of new imaging technologies, such as 3D printing and holograms.(ITALPRESS)
