WASHINGTON (UNITED STATES) (ITALPRESS) – The U.S. THF-TIC Stakeholders’ Meeting, an event dedicated to economic and technological cooperation between Italy and the United States, coincides with the 50th anniversary of the NIAF, took place yesterday. “It is very important to be here on this occasion. I am proud to build ever more alliances and bridges, since Italy and the United States represent the West. This alliance must not disperse, but must become stronger and stronger. I thank the NIAF platform and the 17 million Italo-Americans in the USA, who need to ‘go home’ to know their roots and birthplaces of their relatives. Americans love Italy, and if our tourism grows, we owe it to them.” Said the Minister of Tourism Daniela Santanchè at the press point.
During the evening, the three carabinieri were commemorated, Valerio Daprà, Davide Bernardello and Marco Piffari, tragically disappeared in the explosion of a farmhouse in Castel D’Azzano, in the province of Verona. The Minister said: “Today, as a mother, after hearing the words of the son of the Carabiniere killed, I thought that these words should never forget them, because they remind us of the value of our men in uniform.”.
In conclusion, the Minister thanked Ambassador Marco Peronaci and stressed: “The Italians have contributed to making America great, and the Americans have made Italy even bigger and more famous in the world.” Today, Minister Santanchè continues his mission in Washington D.C., participating first in the ItalPress award and, in the afternoon, at the inauguration of the exhibition of Google Art & Culture dedicated to Italy. The evening will end with a dinner celebrating the 50th anniversary of NIAF.
