The third edition of “Health and Safety Together” begins to raise awareness of the importance of health in workplaces

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Ministry of Labour and Social Policies, together with the Ministry of Education and Merit and in collaboration with INAIL, raises the national competition – dedicated to students of secondary schools of second degree and IeFP paths – “Health and safety…together! Prevention and safety in workplaces are learned at school.”.

The initiative, which is part of the policy of promoting prevention culture, aims to raise awareness among young generations on the importance of health and safety in workplaces, enhancing creativity as an educational tool and active citizenship. The competition invites the classes to realize a creative project, free in form, that tells and promotes the value of safety prevention: For example, short films, comics, graphic or singing representations, reels and spots can be sent, as well as proposals to make individual protection devices more modern or for awareness-raising initiatives.

The drafts shall be sent by and no later than 2 March 2026, in accordance with the procedures indicated in the notice available on the institutional site of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies. The three best projects will be awarded cash prizes to be used for the purchase of useful material to consolidate the institution’s initiatives on health and safety: 3.000 euros to the first classified, 2.000 euros per second and 1.000 euros per third. The Commission may also give a special mention to a maximum of two further projects.

“Educating security means educating respect, responsibility and awareness – said the Minister of Labour and Social Policies, Marina Calderone –. With this competition we give space to the voice of students, stimulate them to reflect together with the teaching body and to propose new and aware visions on a topic that concerns their present and their future. We want to involve them in a creative path that makes them protagonists of a culture of prevention that must start right between the school benches.”.

“Safety at work is an indispensable value and the school is the first presidium in which it must be taught and guaranteed. For this reason we have foreseen, in the new guidelines for civic education, the culture of safety on workplaces as an integral part of the training path and we have introduced more stringent rules for companies hosting young people engaged in school-work training. We also extended Inail insurance cover to all school staff and students also for accidents at home-work internships. In this same direction goes the contest banished, which involves students and students in a path of awareness, responsibility and respect of the rules necessary for their own and other security”, said the Minister of Education and Merit Giuseppe Valditara.

We are particularly pleased to collaborate in the third edition of the competition, a valuable initiative that contributes significantly to the strengthening of the link between the school and the working environment. The synergy with the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies and with that of Education and Merit allows to vehicular effectively the issues of prevention towards new generations on which it is indispensable to insist on laying the foundations of an increasingly safe and sustainable world of work”, concluded the President of Inail, Fabrizio D’Ascenzo.
