ROME (ITALPRESS) – A breakdown caused the suspension of rail traffic in the Rome node due to a disconnection of the Termini and Tiburtina facilities. Numerous delays and cancellations inevitably caused disruptions in other cities as well.
Rail circulation during the morning was gradually resuming in the Rome node after RFI technicians intervened.
“Due to the failure of the power supply line at the Rome railway junction, an admittedly rather rare event about which technical investigations are underway, colleagues from RFI and Trenitalia mobilized promptly and in force to deal with the critical issues and impacts on rail traffic,” writes Antonio Donnarumma, CEO and general manager of the FS Italian Group, in a post on Linkedin.
“I took the opportunity to visit the operations room to see for myself the methods, tools and resources deployed in situations such as this,” he adds. “I found myself in front of trained and motivated colleagues, and I listened with keen interest to their opinion also on the improvement programs underway and those that can be implemented in the near future. The FS Group is an internationally recognized excellence in the field of transportation. That is why all of us railway workers must continue to give our best to improve more and more with efficiency and effectiveness, to ensure optimal service levels but also to be able to handle unforeseen events such as these with lucidity and professionalism.”
