TOKYO (JAPAN) (ITALPRESS) – Historical Day for Japan. Sanae Takaichi was elected premier, becoming the first woman to occupy this role in the country.
Takaichi, 64-year-old conservative known as the “Lady di Ferro” of Japan, obtained from the Lower House 237 votes, 13 more than the necessary majority. Takaichi, leader of the LLDP, the Liberal Democratic Party, is the fourth Prime Minister in five years in Japan.
