Ukraine, Meloni “We work with EU and US, no sending our military”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni today participated in a videoconference meeting organized by U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer on commitment to a just and lasting peace that ensures Ukraine’s future sovereignty and security.

The Prime Minister,” reads a note from Palazzo Chigi, “confirmed that Italy intends to continue working with its European and Western partners and the United States to define credible and effective security guarantees, reiterating that national participation in a possible military force on the ground is not planned, however.

“Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni had a telephone conversation this evening with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohamed bin Salman al Saud.” This is according to a note from the Chigi Palace.

“In light of the positive outcome of the talks held in Jeddah earlier this week and following this morning’s videoconference convened by Prime Minister Starmer,” the note continues, “the two leaders in particular discussed ongoing initiatives and shared commitment to a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. Finally, the talks allowed for an exchange of views on recent developments in the Middle East region.”
