BARI (ITALPRESS) – Twelve convictions and five assemblies were issued by the judges of the Court of Bari, criminal section, against 17 members of Casapound finished under trial. The defendants were accused of assaulting some protesters in the Apulian capital. The facts date back to September 21, 2018, when a procession was organized to contest immigration policies of the Minister of the Interior of the time Matteo Salvini. Five defendants were sentenced to 1 year and 6 months of imprisonment for violation of the Choice Law and seven to two years and six months for violation of the Choice law and injuries. Twelve defendants, recognized responsible for violation of the law Choice of 1952 prohibiting the reconstitution of the fascist party and the manifestation of the dissolved fascist party, have been deprived of political rights for five years.
The president of the Apulia Region, Antonio Decaro, commented positively on the sentence issued today by the Court of Bari that recognized the crimes of reorganization of the dissolved fascist party and of fascist manifestation, to the militants of CasaPound: “The Region, constituted a civil part in the process, will devolve the sums that will be inundated as compensation for the activities of the Regional Observatory on New Fascism in Puglia because we are convinced that the only way to fight fascism or attempts to rehabilitation of culture and fascist politics is to continue to disappoint culture and knowledge on what really was and produced fascism in Italy. We cannot take any step back in this sense and all attempts at historical, cultural and political rehabilitation of a neutral season as it was that fascist must be stopped from the beginning.”.
