NISCEMI (CALTANISSETTA) (ITALPRESS) – There are also the last four presidents of the Sicilian Region, including Renato Schifani, among the members of the Procura di Gela in the register of the inquiries, within the scope of the survey on the land of Niscemi.
In total there are thirteen persons finished under investigation, including the last four Sicilian governors in office in the period between 2010 and 2026. It is Raffaele Lombardo, Rosario Crocetta, Nello Musumeci and Renato Schifani. The Chief Prosecutor Salvatore Vella and the pool on the land, with Lucia Caroselli and Maddalena Guglielmino, made this morning the point on the investigation during a press conference.
There are three phases on which the Procura is developing the activities: from 1997, the year of the first landslide, and until 1999, when the contract for the works of mitigation was signed, never realized; from 2010 to 2016 when the contract was resolved for failure but no subsequent interventions were carried out; from 2016 to today, the last phase of verification. There are no mayors of Niscemi under investigation, although the investigation is still in the initial phase.
