TURIN (ITALPRESS) – The Guardia di Finanza of Turin seized 16 kilograms of pure cocaine at Sandro Pertini Airport that would have yielded about 3 million euros on the criminal market. On a flight from Lima to Turin via Paris, a woman of Peruvian origin had cleverly concealed the drug in her checked luggage, hiding it in the double bottom of her suitcase and in the linings of some bags.
During the inspections, officials from the Caselle Territorial Operations Section of the Turin Customs Office and soldiers from the local Guardia di Finanza Company, assisted by the Yellow Flames’ canine unit, found 42 wrappers, including bottles of cosmetic products, wooden infusion bars, skeins of sewing thread and sealed packages of instant food, where the white powder was hidden. The woman was arrested for international drug trafficking.
