ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The trailer and semi-trailers market closes 2025 with a overall positive trend, recording an annual increase of 24.4% compared to the previous year and an increase in volumes of almost 2,000 units. In December, a further positive result was found, with 1,098 units registered with 883 registered in the same period of the previous year, corresponding to an increase of 24.4%.
“We welcome the market signals, which has increased registrations in ten months of the year just completed. To consolidate this trend, it is essential to make available the resources allocated in the previous year for the renewal of the vehicular park, pairs to 6 million euros, and to guarantee, already in the first months of 2026, an effective implementation of the measures envisaged by the Extraordinary Fund of 590 million euros intended for freight transport. The multiannual nature of the Fund is a crucial tool to offer companies stability and predictability, favouring a structured and continuous planning of investments,” comments Michele Mastagni, Coordinator of the Group of Remortches, Semi-trailers and UNRAE Allocations.
“In this regard, – Mastagni continues – UNRAE, in coordination with the Associations of the road haulage and the automotive industry, has already started in-depth interlocutions with the MIT, in order to allocate to the section of the hauled a significant share of resources from the first year of application. The goal is to strengthen the effectiveness of the incentive system through the extension of the eligible categories, the strengthening of the contribution intensity and the introduction of rewarding criteria linked to the replacement of the most dated and obsolete means, still widely present on the Italian roads, with new generation vehicles more safe, efficient and sustainable”.
“Finally, for 2026 we hope that, alongside the incentives to the application, the Actual Legislative Decrees of the revision of the Code of Road – whose adoption has recently been extended – allow the update of the implementing Regulation and the full application of the legislation that extends the maximum length of the self-targeted from 16,50 to 18,75 meters, finally allowing Italy to align with the standards already successfully adopted in many European countries,” Mastagni concludes.
