ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The final event of “Energie per il futuro dell’export”, the traveling roadshow of SACE, the Export Credit Agency directly participated by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, dedicated to the dialogue and listening of Italian companies. A journey that has involved more than 400 companies through seven stages in Italy – Milan, Venice, Bologna, Florence, Naples, Bari and Rome – and one in Dubai, housed in the SACE offices, real Houses of enterprises that every day support companies in their growth paths in Italy and the world.
The roadshow of SACE has collected the new needs of Italian companies, also in the light of the constantly evolving economic context, in order to be able to write together the strategies and tools SACE of the near future and to maximise the potential growth of export, with a particular attention to the main branches, districts and strategic sectors of Made in Italy. In the final stage of this route today in Rome – in addition to listening to the companies of Lazio, Abruzzo and Molise and the testimonies of great champions of supply chain such as Fincantieri and Leonardo – the main evidence emerged in the previous four months of meetings on the territory.
“The SACE roadshow dedicated to the future of export has entered a crucial historical moment, in which value chains are redesigning, trade flows are changing direction and new economies are growing at high pace, generating new opportunities for future generations – said SACE President Guglielmo Pil Picchi – Italy is one of the largest exporting economies globally, with more than 120 thousand exporting companies that generate 4,3 million jobs. For this reason, supporting exports means supporting the country’s future.”
“Listening the territory has been essential to understand challenges and opportunities and strengthen our tools to give further energy to the future of enterprises and to our export, also in a logic of supply chain, in line with the institutional mission of SACE and with the mandate of the Presidency of the Council and the
Ministry of Economy and Finance – said SACE CEO Michele Pignotti -. This is not a point of arrival, but of departure: companies ask for tools that transform the excellence of Made in Italy into a stronger presence on foreign markets, want to diversify and need covers, information and accompaniment. This is where SACE is perceived as a strategic lever for the entire country system.”
The event in Rome, in the presence of the management and territorial advisors of SACE, started from an analysis of the SACE Study Office on global scenarios and opportunities markets for Italian exports, with a specific focus on the territory of Lazio, Abruzzo and Molise: a contribution of useful value to stimulate a moment of comparison and sharing with the concrete perspectives of development. At the center of the event, the testimonies of companies like Cisalfa Sport and Rustichella d’Abruzzo, who have successfully faced international growth, thanks also to the tools and services of accompaniment of SACE, and of great champions such as Fincantieri and Leonardo who have represented the potential for foreign growth for the reference chains.
SACE, with its offer from Export Credit Agency and its export advisor network, is considered by companies a vital tool of the Country System to explore new markets perceived as complex, develop international chains, seize the opportunities of the most dynamic countries, build a stable presence in the markets of the future.
There are three in particular the strategic priorities highlighted by the companies during the meetings of the roadshow of SACE. Firstly, strengthening competitiveness: enterprises call for tools to transformthe excellence of Made in Italy in a structured presence on foreign markets, with greater continuity, stability and support in international positioning, also in a logic of supply chain; Secondly, they want to invest in innovation and digitization: levers indispensable to increase productivity, attractiveness and export capacity; Finally, they aim to expand on new markets and manage risks: companies want to diversify, but ask for covers, information and accompaniment.
On the trend of the Italian export analysed by the SACE Study Office, the need to increase the diversification of the reference markets emerges. It is thanks to this strategy that the Italian export is showing signs of growth in a complex global context, achieving an increase of 3.1% in the first eleven months of 2025.
Despite the slowdown in mature markets such as Germany, many companies are already expanding their presence in booming areas such as Middle East, Southeast Asia, India and North Africa. However, the growth potential is still very wide. Although in the last twenty-five years Italian exports to emerging countries have grown more compared to mature markets (+6.6% average annual compared to +4.2%), the geographical concentration of Italian exports remains very high: few companies export outside the EU and 44% focus on a single market.
