Cinema and sport mirror of society, comes book “Cak you play. Sports and Sample Stories”

PALERMO (ITALPRESS) – Cinema and sport as a mirror of society, as a story of passions, falls and ransoms. This is the lead thread of “Cak you play. Stories of sports and champions”, the last literary effort of the criminal lawyer and essayist Carmelo Franco, an act of love towards his two great passions, which will be presented in Palermo Saturday 31 January at 17.30 at the auditorium of Officine Bellotti.

The work goes through more than a hundred years of sports history filtered by the look of the seventh art. From the ring to the football field, from the basketball parquet to the Berlin Olympics, the cinema becomes an instrument for reading the great competitive challenges and their human and social effects, returning to the viewer-atleta stories that go beyond the final result.

The presentation will talk with the author Gianfranco Merenda, head editor Sport of the Italpress agency, and Ivan Scinardo, director of the Sicilian headquarters of the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, who curated the preface and the postface of the volume respectively. Among the others, the former Attorney added to the Tribunal of Palermo Leonardo Agueci and the lawyer and essayist Paolo Di Fresco, who with Franco has already edited previous publications.
