Ciclone Harry, Meloni announces a CdM Monday to declare emergency status

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “The President of the Council, Giorgia Meloni, presided today afternoon, at the headquarters of the Civil Protection in Rome, a meeting on the damage caused by the exceptional wave of bad weather that hit South Italy, in particular for the passage of the cyclone Harry”. It is what we read in a note of Palazzo Chigi. The meeting was attended by Minister Nello Musumeci, in connection with Catania; the Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council, Alfredo Mantovano; the President of the Calabria Region, Roberto Occhiuto; the President of the Sardinia Region, Alessandra Todde; the President of the Sicilian Region, Renato Schifani; the Head Department of Civil Protection, Fabio Ciciliano.

President Meloni announced for Monday the call of the Council of Ministers to deliberate the declaration of the state of emergency in the affected territories, anticipating an initial appropriation to cope with the immediate needs and guarantee the first withdrawals, waiting to have a complete and comprehensive assessment of the damages. President Meloni has renewed “the solidarity of his own and the government all to the communities involved and the thanks to Department, territorial presidi, Regions, Municipalities and Prefects for the work of forecasting and allertization. It is also thanks to the institutional synergy promptly activated if there were no victims, despite the considerable amount of rainfall and the violence of the tides on the shores”.
