Catholic University first in Italy for international student mobility

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – The Catholic University of the Sacred Heart is the first university in Italy for student mobility, both in and out, according to the “QS World University Rankings: Europe 2026”. A result that places the University also in third place in Europe for outgoing mobility and at the 22nd for the entry, confirming the strong international openness and the attractiveness of its educational offer. In the European ranking the Catholic University progresses reaching the 136th position.

A particularly important result if it is considered that, for this third edition, the “QS World University Rankings: Europe 2026”, elaborated by analysts of Quacquarelli Symonds, has expanded the number of universities evaluated, from 690 European and 52 Italian of 2024 to 958 European and 64 Italian of 2026. The improvement of the Catholic University in the ranking is accompanied by an important overall increase of its score (from 50,5 in 2025 to 63,9 in 2026), thanks to the general strengthening of its performance in the main indicators on which the ranking is built. Particularly relevant is the trend linked to the international mobility of students, both outgoing and incoming and, once again, witnesses the strong openness to the world of the University and the high quality of the training offer.

“The Catholic University of the Sacred Heart is configured as a real global microcosm,” says Rector Elena Beccalli. “We are the first university in Italy for students’ attractiveness from abroad, but we are also the first for international exchange opportunities offered to our students. Data that are not only statistics, but evidence of a live network that connects Italy to the rest of the world. In our 5 campuses, internationalization is not an abstract concept, but a daily experience made of multicultural classrooms, internships in world capitals and exchanges with the most prestigious international universities. We invest in human capital because we believe that the leadership of the future stems from comparison with global complexity.”.

Specifically with regard to the Outbound Exchange Students (exit student mobility) the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart obtained in 2026 a score of 100/100, growing compared to previous editions, thus placing itself in place 1st in Italy and 3rd in Europe. In the Inbound Exchange Students indicator (Incoming student mobility) the score reaches 99.9/100, also increasing compared to previous years, ranking the University in 1st place in Italy and 2nd in Europe. The Catholic University also makes 21 places at European level in the Papers parameter for Faculty (number of publications per teacher); While in Italy it occupies position number 5 for Employer Reputation (Reputation with Employers), number 6 for Employment Outcomes (Employment outcomes) and number 8 for Citations per Paper (Article Quotes).
