ROMA (ITALPRESS) – At the end of December, for the whole of the economic sectors, there are 48 national collective agreements in force for the economic part and concern about 7.6 million workers that correspond to 57.8% of the total of the employees. This percentage is the synthesis of a share of 73.8% in the private sector (100% in the agricultural sector, 47.2% in industry and 94.3% in private services) and zero in public administration as all contracts have expired. It is what emerges from the data Istat, according to which in the course of the fourth trimester 2025 were transposed 9 contracts and no contract has expired. At the end of December, contracts pending renewal are 27 and involve approximately 5.5 million employees, of which 2.7 million in the private sector (12 contracts) and 2.8 in the public administration (15 contracts).
The average waiting time for renewal, for workers with expired contract, fell from 19.7 months of January 2025 to 18.9 months of December 2025. In the average of 2025, the hourly earnings index grew by 3.1% compared to the previous year. In the private sector, growth of 3.2% is driven by the agricultural sector (+5.0%), by the industrial sector (+3.4%) and to a lesser extent by private services (+3.0%). For the public administration the increase stops at +2.7%. In December the monthly index of hourly contractual wages increased by 0.2% compared to November 2025 and 2.9% compared to December 2024. In detail, the higher tendencies concern the ministries (+7.2%), the armed forces (6.9%) and the firefighters (6.8%); no increase in private pharmacies and telecommunications.
