ASP Syracuse, national award “PA OK!” for innovation in ER

SIRACUSA (ITALPRESS) – Syracuse’s Asp has received a new recognition under the National PA OK Award! Together to create public value. The award, which took place in the Spazio Fare del Mercato Centrale, celebrated the project PS SMART – Pronto Soccorso Trasparente, Connecto e Umano, an initiative selected between over three hundred applications from the Department of Public Function, Formez and SDA Bocconi for its ability to transform health services through the opportunities of the PNRR. This new milestone, we read in a note of the Asp of Syracuse, “is not an isolated episode, but it fits into a solid path of research of technological excellence that has seen the Company aretusea constantly rewarded at the highest levels. Only in the last year, the Company has been declared a winner for digital innovation in health by the Politecnico di Milano for the projects related to the ER and received the special mention of the Digital Republic for the inclusion and simplicity of online services. The value of the solutions adopted was also recognized by clinical engineers with the AIIC Award 2025 and the prestigious Lean Healthcare Awards, where the PS-Next+ project was awarded for the use of artificial intelligence applied to patient flows. To these successes are added the AISIS Award for the replicability of the model and the Innovare Award of Forum Sanità for excellence in the use of Big Data, which are added to the previous awards obtained at the Forum PA and the SMAU”. The success of today’s PS SMART, continues the note, comes from the strategic will of the Asp of Syracuse “to improve the humanization of the emergency-emergency area through technology. The data confirms the effectiveness of this vision: improve the average time between triage and visit, reduced from sixty to forty-eight minutes and a total stay in almost halved ER, passing from more than seven hours to less than four. Moreover, thanks to the integration with the Territorial Operating Units, the monitoring of patients over 65 has allowed to drastically reduce improper reaccessions, ensuring a health closer to fragility.” The authoritativeness achieved by the ASP of Syracuse is now evidenced by the scalability of its solutions, already sold in reuse to the ASP of Catania and the IRCS Bonino Pulejo of Messina to accelerate the modernization of Sicilian health. “With the gaze already addressed to the future, the Company is already working on the integration of artificial intelligence to support clinical decisions, confirming a vocation to innovation that continues to generate concrete and measurable value for the whole community,” the note concludes.
