ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The “Arma 1814 Ski Challenge” has just ended, the event that has transformed the most complex alpine exercise of the Carabinieri Arma into a sporting event, full of events dedicated to the general public and a unique ski race in its kind reserved to members of the Arma.
The prestigious event was attended by the Alfa Romeo brand, always alongside the Carabinieri, which takes this opportunity to officially open the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of an indissoluble bond. The partnership between Alfa Romeo and the Carabinieri, in fact, originates in the second post-war period; the first Alfa Romeo of the Arma was the 1900 M “Matta” of 1951.
With the Giulia of the 60’s, which was used from 1963 to 1968 was born the “Gazzella”, of the Nucleo Radiomobile, symbol of the ready intervention. Since then, the link between Arma and Alfa Romeo has continued over the years: Alfetta, 90, 75, 155, 156 and 159, Giulietta, Giulia, Tonale, reaching the Giulia Quadrifoglio. Many of these cars are on display today at the Alfa Romeo Museum, in the section “Alfa Romeo in Divisa” realized in collaboration with the Arma and inaugurated on 24 June 2020 on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the Biscione.

To witness the closeness and collaboration between Brand and Arma, spectators and athletes of the event “Arma 1814 Ski Challenge” were able to admire the Giulia Quadrifoglio in institutional livery that took part, together with the institutional authorities, in training activities, including the launch of sports parachutes, the chosen shooter race, the simulation of a rescue with dogs and helicopters and the exciting concert of the fanfare.
The highest expression of Biscione’s DNA, in terms of performance, design and mechanical innovation, the sports saloon has recently been delivered by Brand to the Arma dei Carabinieri, equipped with a special equipment for rapid and safe transport of organs and blood, to ensure maximum efficiency in health missions. The gritty Giulia Quadrifoglio is the result of a hundred years of technical excellence applied to competitions and production cars.
Contradistinct by the legendary Green Quadrifoglio logo, the model is positioned at the top of its segment for handling and weight-power ratio, ensuring a unique, direct and engaging driving experience from true Alfa Romeo. Under the hood of the Giulia Quadrifoglio roars the powerful 2.9 V6 from 520 CV, which embodies the entire Alfa Romeo sports tradition and returns to the guide that instinctive connection typical of the brand. The carbon fiber, symbol of the racing soul of the Quadrifoglio, covers the shield in the front, the caps of the mirrors and the finishes of the central tunnel and the bridge.
Finally, the carbide braking system that guarantees maximum braking performance. Mounted in the field of the exercise of the Division Mobili dell’Arma and of the 40th race of Ski Armour – annual competition that celebrates the Alpine troops of the Arma, sponsored by Defense Services and by “Arma 1814” – the event “Arma 1814 Ski Challenge” highlights the capabilities of the Carabinieri in a mountain environment and spreads the respect and commitment to sustainability, security and protection of the Olympics.
To challenge 200 carabinieri – to which are added the athletes of Army, Marina and Aeronautica and the soldiers belonging to the Police Forces of France, Switzerland, Slovenia, Germany and Austria and a small representation of Qatar – in the disciplines of cross-country skiing, patrol mountaineering combined with precision shooting with rifle and giant slalom. Moreover, they will compete athletes of the Paralympic Defence Group “GSPD”, for a total of about 250 athletes.
