ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “The Coni has for years represented the central dynamics of all sports. An anomaly, especially for comparison with other Western nations, where there is a Ministry of Sports and the Olympic Committee takes care of bringing athletes to the Olympic Games or to other international events. Let’s say that there is a need for public institutions to govern sport, but it must be honoured to the Coni that it has been able to maintain the Italian flag at the highest levels. Today it is certainly true that four subjects, Coni, Sport and Health, Ministry of Sport and Department of Sport, need an ever greater growth of consultation”. Thus the President of Asi Claudio Barbaro, who exposed his point of view on the multiplicity of decision-makers in sport. After the Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi, the president of the Coni Luciano Buonfiglio, the president of the Fondazione Milano-Cortina Giovanni Malagò, the president of Sport and Health Marco Mezzaroma, in the sixth episode of ASI Play, the new multimedia platform of ASI, Italian Sports and Social Associations, the former director of Raisport Jacopo Volpi interviewed exclusively the president of the Asi Claudio Barbaro.
Barbaro has dealt with several topics, focusing on the role that the Sports Promotion Boards should increasingly play in the Italian sports scene. “In particular, Asi – added Barbaro – has reached incredible numbers but we do not only look at this, but at design, the ability to propose on other fronts beyond sport, to work on technical and managerial training, to offer support to associations, factors that make us different from a Federation that is usually projected almost exclusively to the development of agonistic activity.”.
In the sixth episode of ASI Play, among the various services, also the story of the Olympic torch a few days from the beginning of the Games of Milan-Cortina, while the gaze moves overseas to tell the new evolutions of Physical Dance in the Big Apple. There are extreme challenges, such as survival on Etna, where sport and nature meet in one of the most fascinating and challenging scenarios in our country. It is also a place for culture and memory with the presentation of Graziella Quattrocchi’s book, an intense tribute and felt to his brother Fabrizio, and to innovation with an insight into the towers of Maratona in the modern sports complex. Motor fans will find the authoritative signature of Italo Cucci, which analyzes the new Ferrari season, while the music meets the social commitment with Italia Vision, the musical contest of the Third Sector of ASI, enriched by the presence of Mogol as president of jury. A transversal journey between sports, stories and visions that tell the present and look to the future.
