CORTINA (ITALPRESS) – Bronze Medal for Sofia Goggia in the women’s descent to the Milan-Cortina Olympics. The blue closed in 1.36.69, preceded by the German Emma Aicher, silver in 1.36.14. Gold went to the American Breezy Johnson (1.36.10). The race had been interrupted by a serious injury to Lindsey Vonn. It is the fourth medal of Italy after the gold, silver and bronze of the first day of races.
It is the third five-round medal for Bergamo after the gold of Pyeongchang and the silver of Beijing. In this race was also expected Federica Brignone, who closed in 10th place, while among the other blue Laura Pirovano placed sixth and Nicol Delago eleventh.

If I only think about how I was last week, it’s a lot of stuff.” Federica Brignone comments on Raisport’s Olympic descent in Cortina, an event that seemed at risk until a few days ago because of his calvary after the bad injury and that instead saw it among the protagonists in the race. “Now I need to calm down for a moment – explains the 35-year-old Valdostan rifle – Salts and landings were powerful, I have to give myself a little relief but I am satisfied. If I arrived here last year it would have been different, but only being in the race today was special”.
