ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “My prayer for the populations of Portugal, Morocco, Spain, in particular Grazalema in Andalusia and southern Italy, especially of Niscemi in Sicily, affected by floods and landslides. I encourage communities to remain united and supportive with the maternal protection of the Virgin Mary“. Pope Leo XIV said this during the Angelus in St. Peter’s Square.
“We continue to pray for peace. The strategies of economic and military power, the history teaches us, do not give future to humanity. The future lies in respect and brotherhood among peoples,” he added.
“With pain and concern I learned of recent attacks on various communities in Nigeria that caused serious human lives losses. I express my closeness during all the victims of violence and terrorism I hope that the competent authorities will continue to work with determination to ensure the safety and protection of the life of every citizen”, the Pontiff concluded.
