“It’s a completely unexpected medal. Today at first I was just thinking about doing the best; but I didn’t think about the podium. I really enjoyed the race. Davide Ghiotto has always been an inspiration for me. Then I saw that I was in front of him, and there I realized that I could climb the podium. At the end of the various races my comrades brought me in triumph and I burst to cry. This is the most important chapter of my life.” Thus, at the microphones of Sky Sport, the 23-year-old Milanese Riccardo Lorello, bronze medal in Milan-Cortina in the 5000 men of speed skating.
