PRISTINA (KOSOVO) (ITALPRESS) – The Prosecutor at the Specialized Chambers of Kosovo at the Hague (Ksc) has called for a 45-year imprisonment for the former president of Kosovo Hashim Thaci and for three other ex-high exponents of the Kosovo Liberation Army (Uck) – Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniq.
At the end of a three-year trial, the Prosecutor at the Specialized Chambers of Kosovo, Kimberly West, stated in the final requirement that, on the basis of the trials that emerged during the debate, the defendants are guilty of all ten charges for their personal contribution to the commission of the crimes. According to the prosecution, the defendants are responsible for the death of at least 100 people, as well as the illicit mistreatment and detention of hundreds of individuals. According to the prosecution, Thaci, Veseli, Selimi and Krasniqi would have been “protagonists of a criminal enterprise”, with the aim of eliminating opponents with violence and ensuring full control of Kosovo.
