In the second half of 2025 net profit to 622,9 million for Mediobanca, Melzi d’Eril “Business solidi”

MILANO (ITALPRESS) – The Board of Directors of Mediobanca, chaired by Vittorio Umberto Grilli, approved the individual and consolidated results of the financial year (of 6 months) at 31 December 2025, illustrated by CEO Alessandro Melzi d’Eril. The consolidated net profit of the six months is on a recurring basis at 622.9 million, in decrease regarding last year (-5.6%), with a ROTE of 12.8%5 and RoRWA5 of 2.7% (respectively 14.2% and 2.9% in the year closed to 30 June last). Consolidated net income is EUR 512.6 million after overtime costs of EUR 110.3 million linked to the Public Exchange Offers (“OPS”) and alignment to MPS accounting criteria (see below). The last quarter closes with a net profit of 221 million, after non-recurring charges of 80 million.

The operating trend reflects the moment of transition from the change in the last semester with the entry of Mediobanca to become part of the MPS Group and the settlement of the new Board on 28 October 2025. “In the face of a lively financing activity, both in consumer credit and corporate loans, the last quarter, in particular, suffers the weakness of WM flows, for bankers leaving and the performance of the advisory in the CIB lower than the record results recorded last year,” reads in a note.

“In a period of inevitable transition, Mediobanca can leverage solid business and distinctive professionalism, and thus prepare to write a new chapter of its history, having built in its 80 years of life a unique heritage of trust in the Italian financial landscape. Investing on our people and their talents will be the priority of this path, with the aim of confirming ourselves as a reference partner for entrepreneurs in all their financial needs, from the growth of the company to the management of the assets. With this determination and commitment, we are going to start the 2026 exercise in recovery over the entire franchise.” In a note the CEO and General Manager of Mediobanca Alessandro Melzi d’Eril.
