ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “The relations with Africa represent an important strategic priority for the Italian government. We want to do more and we want to do it better, according to an equal approach, not neocolonial and based on the mutual interest. The Mattei Plan embodies a strategy based on these principles: concrete cooperation and constant political dialogue. The objective is to finance – thanks to an initial budget of 5.5 billion – projects that meet concrete needs, identified with African partners”. Antonio Tajani, Vicepremier and Foreign Minister, said this in an interview with the Avvenire newspaper.
“I think, for example, to participate in the realization of the Corridor of Lobito and to the innovative projects of transformation of African agricultural systems. And this Italian vision will be the engine of the Italy-Africa summit that the president of the Council Giorgia Meloni leads to Addis Ababa this weekend,” he adds.
