SAKHIR (BAHRAIN) (ITALPRESS) – Charles Leclerc was the fastest during the second pre-season test day in Bahrain. The Ferrari SF-26 has managed with the time of 1’34′′273, obtained in the matutine session. Leclerc has concluded with a little more than half a second of advantage on the world champion Lando Norris and a second on Oliver Bearman (Haas), with all three drivers who spent the entire day at the wheel, passing the finish line of the 100 laps (despite a morning stop for the McLaren driver).
Mercedes was one of the stables to divide the day between the two drivers, although Kimi Antonelli was strongly slowed down by a power unit problem in the morning, before George Russell took the wheel for the afternoon and ranked fourth overall at 1′′′′193 by Leclerc. The new Red Bull pilot, Isack Hadjar, was braked by apparent technical problems at the beginning, but in the second part was redeemed closing in fifth position (+2′′′288).
Audi continued its preparation for the debut season in F1 with Gabriel Bortoleto and Nico Hulkenberg, who finished sixth and tenth respectively, preceded by Pierre Gasly (Alpine), seventh, Valtteri Bottas (Cadillac), and Alex Albon (Williams). Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) closed 16th and last in the standings after the problems that had forced him to travel only three laps.
The second day of testing saw the presence of the number 1 tennis box, the Spanish Carlos Alcaraz, who came to greet the drivers and in particular the compatriots, Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso.
