ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “We cannot stay out of the reconstruction of Gaza, even this is a key to reading about our presence as observers in the Board. And then it is right to be there because it is another confirmation of the government’s commitment to stabilise the Middle East.” This is how the vice-premier and foreign minister, Antonio Tajani, in an interview with Corriere della Sera, about Italy’s participation as an observer of the Board of Peace.
On the polemics raised by the oppositions that speak of an Italy besieged Trump, Tajani is net: “I feel like nonsense. So is the European Commission, who will be present with the head of the Mediterranco Dubravka Šuica, also besieged in America? What about Cyprus having the presidency? I don’t understand what is to be stunned.”.
Tajani will be in Parliament for voting on this subject: “It will be a vote of political address on the presence of Italy in the role of observer in the Peace Council, knowing that we cannot enter for the well-known reasons of constitutional incompatibility,” he said.
