Media “Trump assesses an attack on Iran on the next weekend”

NEW YORK (USA) (ITALPRESS) – High US national security officials have informed President Donald Trump that the US armed forces are ready to strike Iran even next weekend, according to sources cited by CBS News.

However, the same sources indicate that a possible operation could be postponed at the beginning of next week, underlining that Trump has not yet made a final decision.

In view of possible Iranian actions or retaliation, the Pentagon is continuing to transfer part of staff from the Middle East to Europe or is returning to the United States. According to a source, it is standard re-explaining procedures and not a certain proof that an attack is imminent. In parallel, U.S. officials quoted by the Wall Street Journal report that Trump received detailed briefings on available military options.

These include: a prolonged operation aimed at eliminating dozens of Iranian political and military leaders, with the aim of overthrowing the regime; a more limited action, focused on nuclear and ballistic missile plants. Israeli defense officials cited by the Haaretz daily said that the probability of an American attack has increased in the last 24 hours, after the umpteenth round of talks between Washington and Tehran.

In light of this scenario, Israel and the United States are closely coordinating intelligence, communications and air defense. At the moment, however, the Israeli military leaders point out that no new directives have been given to modify the alert level of the internal front, which remains very high for weeks.
