ROMA (ITALPRESS) – 2026 opens with a positive signal for the trailer and semi-trailers sector, confirming the good market dynamics shown during 2025. In January there was an increase of 13.2% compared to the same month of the previous year, with 1,190 units registered against 1,051 of 2025.
“We welcome the good performance of January, which still reflects the momentum of the positive trend and the order portfolio matured over last year. With the advance of the months, however, we see a possible slowing down of the registrations, with the risk of a return of the market in negative territory”, comments Michele Mastagni, Coordinator of the Group Rimorchi, Semirimorchi e Allestimenti di UNRAE.
“The slowdown could be accentuated if the time for the implementation of the Extraordinary Fund for the transport of goods from 590 million euros, established by the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport, which is finally a concrete instrument and with a multiannual horizon for the renewal of the park. A deferment of the measures would be likely to generate a expected effect, with possible repercussions on the market in the coming months due to the slowdown of orders and the postponement in the planning of investments by enterprises”, continues Mastagni.
UNRAE expresses its appreciation for the attention shown by MIT on the theme of the maximum length of self-articolated, already elevated – from 2021 – to 18,75 meters. The recent ministerial circle and the intervention at the Chamber have reiterated the initiatives so far adopted to allow the circulation of sail complexes up to 18.75 meters and the need to harmonize the regulatory framework, brought back to the implementing measures of the Law of Revision of the Code of Road. 2
“We feel that it is time to intervene, taking the opportunity offered by the imminent extension of the deadline for the adoption of the Actual Legislative Decrees of the reform of the Code of Road. The necessary update of the Execution Regulation can finally guarantee the full application of the legislation that extends the maximum length of the auto-articolati from 16,50 to 18,75 meters, also allowing the registration of the Eurotrailer”, concludes Mastagni
