Ukraine, 64% of Europeans support the peacekeeping mission at the end of the war

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – European public opinion is in favour of a role of the Union in the post-war Ukraine, but with important nuances on the level of military involvement. This is what emerges from the last EuroScope survey of Polling Europe, conducted between 30 January and 9 February 2026 on a representative sample of 5,273 European citizens. If, at the end of the war in Ukraine, your country should participate in a peacekeeping force, 64% of Europeans respond positively. However, only 27% are also in favour of sending troops to the ground, while a larger share (37%) would prefer a limited contribution to logistic support, intelligence and weapons supplies. 36% opposes any form of participation.

There are also significant differences between different countries. Spain records the highest level of overall support (78%), followed by France (69%). Consensus in Germany (57%) and Poland (56%). In Italy the favor is 61%. Political orientation also affects significantly. Among the voters of the S&D, Greens and Renew Europe European groups, support for the mission is around 80%, while among the voters of the ESN area falls to 34%, with a clear prevalence of opposites (66%).
