ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Italian Federation of Equestrian Sports celebrated the 100th anniversary of its foundation at the Salone d’Onore del Coni. In the presence of the president of the Coni, Luciano Buonfiglio, of the president of the Cip, Marco Giunio De Sanctis, of the president of Fondazione Milano-Cortina, Giovanni Malagò, of the president and of the ad of Sport and Health, respectively Marco Mezzaroma and Diego Nepi Molineris, and of a special guest like Adriano Panatta, Fise cuts an exceptional milestone that projects it towards the future and towards new challenges, not only sports and agonistics.
“Today we start with equestrian sports: for 100 years this wonderful federation was born. There is an important commitment from the sports point of view and not only, especially towards all athletes. This year the Olympic slots are opened for Los Angeles 2028, on jumping obstacles and complete program we will be able to aspire to a qualification”, the words of President Marco Di Paola, who previews for 2026 a rich calendar of initiatives dedicated to the centenary: celebratory events, cultural projects, institutional moments and sporting activities that will be unveiled during the year.
“The Fise not only represents the symbol of continuity, but is the emblem of Italy’s economic and social growth. It is a privilege to be here to celebrate the 100 years of Fise, which is an authentic pillar of our sport”, the intervention of the number one of the Coni, Luciano Buonfiglio.
The centenary Fise also coincides with another symbolic event for Italian equestrian sports: the Csio of Piazza di Siena, the official international competition organized by the Federation, celebrates 100 years since its first edition. Under the sporting point of view, the highlight is definitely the one with the Fei World Championships 2026 in Aquisgrana, Germany, which for two weeks (10-23 August), will bring to the forefront the best of equestrian sports globally. “They are one hundred years of history for a growing federation and projected towards the future. We aim at revenues of more than 31 million euros, to witness our national and international growth. Through the Road to Los Angeles project we aim to involve the whole movement in a three-year program towards the Summer Games. The goal is to try to do better and better,” explains the secretary general of Fise Simone Perillo.
Six disciplines in Aquisgrana (Salto Ostacoli, Dressage, Paradressage, Complete Competition of Riding, Attacks and Voltage), which will be the first qualifying step for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles 2028. On the economic side, a historic quality jump (from B to A+) projects Fise to the 4th place overall in the ESG ranking of Sport and Health, consecrating the horse as an ambassador for environmental protection. A jump beyond the obstacle, towards a future where sport and nature run on the same trail. For the Italian Federation of Equestrian Sports, sustainability is no longer just an ideal goal, but a milestone certified by numbers. “It’s a very important day. We celebrate all the champions of the past, but always with the head to present and future. 2026 is an important year for the Olympic qualification. The programs are there and the teams are training”, adds sports director Francesco Girardi. On the occasion of the annual conference 2026, Fise announces the results of the questionnaire Esg (Environmental, Social and Governance) of Sport and Health related to the year 2025: the Federation obtained the prestigious Rating A+, with a score of 66,85.
For 2026, the challenge of Fise is ambitious: further improve its sustainability standards and consolidate a management model that focuses on transparency and efficiency, with the aim of generating a positive and measurable social and environmental impact for the entire equestrian sector.
