MESSINA (ITALPRESS) – The Provincial Health Company of Messina accelerates the strengthening of proximity services. With the completion of the procedures, 24 Psychologists of Primary Cures officially enter service, starting from March 1, across the provincial territory, going to strengthen the health offer. The initiative presented at the press conference at Palazzo Geraci dell’Asp in Messina was born in implementation of the recent regional directives aimed at structuring a model of integrated assistance, able to early intercept psychological discomfort and reduce the burden on specialized structures, “Mental health” and “Family Consultors”. The start of the service marks a fundamental change: professionals will work capillaryly within the Community Houses, the new central nodes of the National Health Service, making psychological support a service of easy access and rooted in the everyday life of citizens. Technical and organizational coordination is entrusted to the U.O.C. Psychology service, directed by Antonina Santisi who with his team will preside over the uniformity of performance in the provincial territory. “The goal is to create a psychological protection network that is the first contact point for the population – explains the Managing Director of Asp Giuseppe Cuccì – satisfied that the Company is the first in Sicily to contract professionals. “Thanks to the Houses of Community, the psychologist becomes a friendly figure, present on the territory, able to give quick answers and to accompany the citizen in an integrated path of care, avoiding the psychological discomfort remains submerged or unheard.” “With the recruitment of these 24 professionals – adds Antonina Santisi. the ASP of Messina responds concretely to a demand for psychological well-being growing among citizens.
